I have only 6 months left to pay on my car when I called to get a cash payoff amount, it was more than the principle amount that I have now. The principle amount to date is $7855.49, if I continue to make payments of $425. per month until July, with a 29% interest. The cash payoff amount they gave my for today is $7878. When I asked the representitive why the increase, she became hostile and started talking loudly over me. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she put me on hold, I stayed on hold for 7 minutes then hung up.
Times when my payment was not on time, they would call with a caller I.D. of unavailable, and not leave a mesage. There is never a call back number, and if I do talk to the representitive on the phone, they are rude, hostile and loud. My next phone call is to my lawyer.

Simple Interest Loan
AUTHOR: Sara - (U.S.A.)

Sounds like your loan is a simple interest loan, therefore interest accrues daily. As a result, there will be a discrepancy between the balance on your statement and the payoff balance. To be safe, if you call them again (good luck) have them give you a 10 day payoff, or a payoff good through the date you are planning on paying off the vehicle loan. Even better, get the payoff amount in writing to cover yourself.
