My daughter has been victimized by posterpass.com a business of Peel, Inc. of Evanston, IL. The companies they run are under the names of:
- Posterpass.com
- Seattle Coffee.com
- ShopDani.com
- HomeArtsDirect.com

They also have a Tea company, but I cannot find it yet.

Their MO is the same in all cases. They have a very low priced initial offer, but once they have your credit card they ship product without permission and at daily frequency. My daughter signed up for a $5.00 poster offer.

Within two days they has accrued charges on her account for five shipments at $39.80 each, plus the initial order which was $8.00.

They literally wiped out her bank account which was her money from babysitting.

I called Posterpass.com and spoke with customer service manager Kim. I was told that my daughter failed to fill out the frequency of delivery form (I could not locate this anywhere on their website) and as a result the "computer" shipped orders at random intervals. When I challenged this as improper I was told that she could cancel but there would be no refund and that there are no returns.

I researched the organization and found literally hundreds of complaints about Peel and it's businesses with over 900 hundred complaints at teh Chicago Area Better Business Bureau.

Clearly this is a pattern of misrepresentation and it is my opinion that a number of people get taken and just do want to, or don't know how to pursue this.

After researching the organization online I called again and was told by Kim that they had a no refund policy.

Since then, about three hours ago, I've filed complaints with the Attorneys General of Ohio and Illinois, the Better Business Bureau of Chicago the Evanston Chamber of Commerce.

Below is the letter I sent to Mr. Dale the companies President and CEO:

Mr. Dale, I've spent much of today researching Peel, Inc and several of your holdings.

In that time I have learned a lot about your organizations and your business practices. My youngest daughter xxxxx xxxxxxxx has been a victim of your organization and practices and this is not acceptable.

I have already begun a filing with the Attorneys General in Ohio and Illinois, as well as the Better Business Bureau.

I am contacting every person I can find that has complained about Posterpass.com, Homeartsdirect.com and Seattle Coffee to pursue a class action suit against you and your organization for deceptive business practices. In addition, I am contacting every media outlet in the Chicago area and all consumer advocacy sites available via the Internet.

When I spoke with Kim of Posterrpass.com this afternoon, I offered to let all of this drop if the changes were immediately reversed. I was told that you will not do that. I explained that this would be the worst business decision possible, but if that was indeed the position of your organization so be it.

I assure you it will cost you far more to respond to my anger than it will to return her money.

I'm old school and this is the kind of battle for which I was put on this Earth.

Mr. Dale, I will not stop until restitution has been made. And sir, never, ever underestimate what a father will do to show his children that they do not have to accept anyone taking advantage of them.

-- Kindest personal regards,

My daughter worked hard for the little money she had and I will not let this rest. Please, if you have had problems with these people pursue them in any and every way possible.

Last year their revenues were 6.8 million dollars according to Hoovers Business Reports and they probably made most of it by leading people astray and means there are probably close to 100,000 people out there in similar situations.

On top of everything else my daughter has not received over $200 in overdraft fees as a result of her dealings with Posterpass.com. Remember that she initially ordered an a product for $8.00. However, when they kept sending products not ordered and charging her debit card, they wiped out her babysitting account and now she has overdraft charges from the bank.
