PENN FOSTER Took my deposit, never sent course material and now I have a charge off on my credit, that they will not take off. SCRANTON, Pennsylvania

After making the first payment, I was promised course material by mail and access to the courses online. After making the deposit, I have received no correspondence, contact, mail, or email from Penn Foster. I attempted to contact them and received no return email or phone call.
Now, I have a $928.00 charge off on my credit from them, that they will not take off. I have asked for them to show any contact was made after the initial $10.00 deposit and again nothing. I need to have the charge off taken off of my credit or send me the course materials. There is a collections agency that is constantly harrassing me they use which is:

Penn Foster Corrected their Mistake with the help of the BBB

After I published this story and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Washington DC, (their headquarters is in Scranton), I received an offer to settle with them for 25% of the balance. I explained in my response that I did not owe anything and because of their entry on my credit, I had to pay higher interest. They responded back and dimissed the balance and my credit report was corrected.
I have tried for two years for Penn Foster to look into this situation, it was the Better Business Bureau that actually helped
