You know what I have learned in the last 3 months since I filed a report here? I learned that People pc is an unscrupulous company that overestimates their size and anonimity. There are Three Telemarketing agencies that handle calls for People Pc. One in Southern India called V-Connect who have been investigated on several occasions for illegal business practices... I have been placing calls for the last six months and asking all sorts of questions and let me tell you when you think you are speaking to a supervisor, 90 percent of the time, they will tell you that they are in a meeting and if you insist that you will wait; they will place you on hold briefly and hand their headset over to their neighbor and give themselves an instant promotion. They will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to get you off the phone.

This was confirmed by Veive a supervisor in the Phillipines, where they aren't nearly as smart... He openly admitted that this was a common practice in order to keep from getting in trouble for lying to us! I said I can't believe you admitted this... At which time he quickly corrected himself and said that it has been known to happen but it is not a common practice, and anyone caught pretending to be a supervisor would be terminated... Good thing for them they apparrently don't have a QA dept. There is also a facility that handles calls for People Pc in New Mexico. Out of these three facilities, Tape recording a conversation between you and them is strictly forbidden. When asked why? Company Policy... Apparrently if you record the conversation, they are instructed to Release the call.

However in Southern India and the Phillipines, they have no problem giving you permission to record conversations. Apparrently they think that since their is a body of water seperating me and them, the law doesn't apply to them. So next time you think you are talking to a supervisor, better think twice, chances are you are talking to their buddy sitting next to them... If you want results, ask for Rolland in S India. He is one of the few Actual supervisors... However when he promises you something, it means no more than people pc's promises... Then he goes on vacation so you will forget him...

But if you are persistent enough, Rolland Can and will call you back from india to offer more false promises. I have wasted 10 times the amount of money people pc screwed me for in their reps time. I have tried every scenerio. Talk to their sales dept, see what kind of lies you can get I invite you. Did you know that People Pc will gurantee you local access numbers to nonexistant cities? When cornered how that is possible, get ready for the Dial Tone cause they will not let you cost them a job... Let us say you are John Q Public of 1234 Main St Anytown U.S.A. I had to stop the lady from charging the credit card that I gave her cause I informed her that it wasn't mine. I have even called up and told them that I was Osama Bin Laden and wanted to know if I could get restricted access to Google earth if I signed with them and surprise, surpise; on the other end of the phone you hear, and your Credit CArd number?

And dont' think that these people aren't serious. I called HQ in San Francisco, where they will not even admit to being people pc. When asked who they are, they will inform you that you have the wrong number, they are Earthlink. What they don't volunteer is that they Own People PC. Now I know where and how these overseas telemarketing agencies get away with what they do. Even the owners of the company don't want to admit they own the company! I have tried emailing all of the addresses on the people pc web page? I got one reply from them. Don't know who it came from, it was signed one of the poeple at People Pc. And all it said was someone will contact me soon, and lists a reference number. Noone ever tried getting in contact with me and when I called them to inquire, nobody knows whosent that letter or how to reference the # they gave me. Imagine that! This company is nowhere even close to the grey areas of the law. If you want to call People PC their corp hq number is (415) 732-4400.


Don't expect to get anywhere there, once they find out that you are calling about your People pc acct, expect a VERY short conversation b4 they hang up on you. Do what I did; I was advised by a local TV station to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Bourgh. Not with the better business Bourgh. They are the people who are in charge of punishing them for their Theft And Deceipt! And if you choose to write them a letter good luck. By the way they will accept your cancellation request by email now. Apparently b4 it didn't matter; you couldn't cancel by email cause they couldn't handle all of the angry cust between their three call centers. So join me and if you know you aren't going to get your money back, Make sure that they spend 10 times your refund in their Reps Time.


They dont' lie for Free; somebody is paying for their time. Besides every minute you keep them occuplied n the phone is one less minute they can screw the next guy. I am going to make it my life long mission to be a thorn in the side and make them wish they would have never Robbed out of my checking acct 4 different times.
