Performant Recovery Inc. Once you uphold your obligation to rehabilitate your student loan, they refuse to let you go and keep making you send them payments. They lie to the Floirdaa Department of Education as to your standings with them. Every time you call them they say something completely different. Very corrupt Livermore California

Performant Recovery was assigned to collect for my oustanding student loan by The Florida Department of Education. I was able to apply for their rehabilitation program, whihc consisted of me paying them 9 payments of $40.00 on the 28th of each month. I successfully completed their program and even recieved a letter of completion. At this point my loan is up for being taken over by a regular loan provider and in good staning. All of a sudden I start getting bills from Performant Recovery again and I called them to be informed that The Florida Department of Education needed to check my refernces in order to be approved. I gave them my references again and supposedly my loan would be taken over by a lender.

Once again Perfomant sent me a bill, saying that my loan is not reabilitated yet. I spoke to The Florida Department of Education about the situation and they said that Performant has told themthat I did not complete my 9 payments yet - a complete lie by the way. Then I call Performant today and they said , oh, sorry, someone should have told you must give us 12 months to qualify. They have nothing but change their stories and lie and they are sending The Florida Department of Education conflicting information. Basically Performant is holding me hostage financially, and I guess they are getting away with it. I really hope they get investigated.
