I received a call from Duane Broadhead offering me an opportunity to be "brought on board" to receive personal coaching by a leading real estate investing coach. I demonstrated a high level excitement and interest since I recently had started a new LLC do do just that. He told me I would be "working directly under Peter Conti".
He set up the phone "interview" to be conducted by him, Luke  and Bill Aguilar. I was asked to provide information about the approximate amount of money I had available to use for investing in my real estate business. They asked about the approximate balances on my credit cards and in my checking account as well as my 401K. These are typical questions if a party is interested in partnering for investment purposes so I was anxious to demonstrate that I was a bonified investor.
They spent a couple hours on the phone explaining the tax surplus redemption process and how it would potentially make "someone with" my "personality", "initative and drive" a ton of money.
Then they demanded my credit card account numbers stating it would cost me $12,500 because they had provided me all the "tools" I would need to start earning. I graciously declined saying I did not want to spend that much money just now. Bill Aguilar bullied and intimidated me when he said I would never acheive my goals if I did not stop being afraid. He said I was not "spending" that money, I was "investing it". He said I had already been given the secrets to tax surplus redemption and I owed them the money. I said no again and he continued to pressure me. He did get the money from me but I felt like I had been raped.
I spent the next several weeks studying and researching what I had been told about tax surplus redemtion trying to recoupe my "investment". There is a slim chance of earning a few dollars but it is in no way the cash cow they made it out to be.

"There Are Both Sides To Every Coin"

AUTHOR: Mike - ()

My Name is Michael and I personally coached this student. Like they say there are two sides to every coin.

Let me explain... This student was very excited when she started. We both got along great. She paid for 4 sessions and I even gave her another two. After our 4th session she did tell me how she felt but while talking with her I found out the real reason why she wasn't doing what I was teaching her. She was investing into a couple of properties. She was learning how to "flip properties" and these two properties where he first deals. She was struggling with what she was working on and the program I was teaching her. She was however putting the blame on my company and not taking responsibility for her own actions.

So what I am going to do is copy and paste each session notes etc. so you, the reader can see both sides and make your own judgment on whether PWA is a bad company or not.

I have personally helped over 100 students and I have never had a student blame me for their failure. In fact I receive testimonials on a weekly basis. Maybe that's why my name wasn't mentioned above. :-) I'm good at what I do.

By the way, I work with Duayne and Billy and they are great guys. I listen to them all the time and I have never heard either one push a student into the program. I testify from a third party point of view they do not lie or misslead anyone.

If PWA was missleading people I would not be working here and putting my reputation at stake.

1st Session Notes: - Thu. Feb 14 at 5:56PM

Discussed main objections. Researched Wikipedia and Public records. Client assigned to research contact information and obtain lists for next time.

2nd Session Notes: - Wed. Feb 20 at 6:40PM

Discussed information on overage lists.  Discussed finding missing information including name and property address using parcel number. Discussed ownership types and prioritizing lists by ownership types. Talked about tracking down individuals, companies and trust and estates. Next time will work on scripts and discuss contracting process.

3rd Session Notes: - Thu. Feb 21 at 6:03PM

Went over telephone conversation with client and discussed postcard/letter mailing approach. Discussed contracting procedure and touched on Engagement Letter, Verifying claim procedure with county and Power of Attorney.

Session 4 didn't go well... - Mon. Feb 25 at 6:24PM

I called Vivian and she wants a refund... She said the people in the office lied to her because she called Peter Conti's office and they didn't know us. She feels lied to. I explained how this works etc but wouldn't listen to me. I told her I would have Billy and/or Duane give her a call to straighten things out. Curt suggested I have Luc give her a call. I got in touch with Luc and told him the situation. He said he would call her and talk with her.

Called Vivian twice today about scheduling the next coaching call. - Tue. Feb 26 at 6:13PM

Vivian returned my call and I then called her back. I left a message. - Tue. Feb 26 at 6:13PM

4th Session Notes: - Thu. Feb 28 at 10:01AM

Discussed how to fill out Engagement Letter and Limited Power of Attorney. Reviewed whole contracting and claim process. Reiterated advantages of creating own lists of excess proceeds by monitoring upcoming auctions.

5th Session Notes: - Mon. Mar 4 at 6:54PM

I spent an hour with Vivian going through Publicrecords.onlinesearches.com.

Looking up lists under Nevada. I showed her a few lists. I keep telling her that most of the counties she will have to contact the county and ask but she keeps telling me she doesn't have the time during the week. I than suggested she email the counties to see if she can find lists that way.

Vivian doesn't listen very well. Example: When I told her I would skip trace a few names to get her started I explained she needed to fill out the prospect tracker I sent her after the 2nd session. What Vivian did over the weekend is created her own spreadsheet and then copied one column with a name, some number, and the minimum bid amount and emailed it to me. I told her that she needs to fill out the prospect tracker and email that to me. Another example is she told me I told her New Mexico is a good state to work in and she couldn't find any lists etc. I told her that wasn't true. That I in fact told her that I knew of one student working New Mexico and they even received a $12,900 check.

I think Vivian is going to be really hard for the future. Yes she is working hard but she isn't doing it the way it is laid out in the Blue Print and what she and I have talked about.

6th Session Notes - Mon. Mar 11 at 6:08PM

Vivian has been working on a property she got funding for. She has been too busy she said because she was working on that project. She will contact me as she needs me. I personally don't think she is going to do mortgage tax overages. She really wants to working on flipping properties. She hasn't done anything with what I have taught her.
