So, I saw a 1962 Fender Showman 12 advertised on eBay and it was local here in Phoenix. Contacted the seller, marcelsattic, and he told me where it was and I could come look at it. In the meantime, he took the listing down and said he wanted to "clean it up more", which he did not. Represented himself with an alias as 'Marcel Dietz', "...call me Marc...". The amp looked straight up from the outside and he told me he had a tech go over the amp thoroughly. I took him at face value, I don't expect people to rip me off, and bought the amp for $3400.00. I knew that was the high-end worth on this amp if original, but I thought it was 100% original. He swore on his Father's grave that it was original! So, we exchanged the money and item, and I told him I would be taking the amp to my local tech right away and would have it gone over. He said he would stand by it 100% if there were any problems.

Turns out the Power Transformer had been changed, as well whoever did the 'mickey mouse' job, cut several inches of the chassis out. This made the amp worth about half what I paid. Clearly, any tech that would have looked at this would have seen this right away. The new transformer was only black-taped into place! He told me that he had had the amp for 5 years and bought it with a 1960 Fender Jazzmaster. He said he paid $3500 for the amp, 5 years before. Turns out, he bought it on Craigslist 5 months before and (he ended up admitting to me that he paid $3500 for the amp AND guitar!...after I made inquiries to local vintage collectors) and I was able to find out his real name. I googled his real name and came up with a bunch of ripoff reports about him. I guess he is a former New York Police Officer and has been a vintage guitar/amp/drum trader for many years. I feel pretty confident that he knew exactly what he was selling me. After all was said and done, everything that came out of his mouth was a complete LIE! Not sure how someone like this is able to continue to operate??!! He has been reported to eBay, as well fraud.org and IC3.gov regarding this event.

After finding out who he was, I contacted him at his 'real' email and let him know I knew his story. After weeks of not contacting me, he contacted me within 5 minutes. He went round and round about how he is just an "honest guy" who has just a few people that are a little "unhappy". Clearly, he is quite delusional and a pathological liar. Anyone who deals with him should expect to be misled and ripped off. If you don't, consider yourself very lucky! Well known locally as a total ripoff artist, just wished I had figured that out first! This is my attempt to help people in the future avoid what has happened to me and countless others!

QUILTY AS CHARGED!!!!

AUTHOR: Watching You - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, June 04, 2009

I've seen several disturbing postings all over the internet regarding Peter Natoli, AKA drumjunkky, AKA coolklosetklassics as an Ebay seller. Both of those ID's now come up as "no longer a registered user". Now it seems he's operating under another Ebay user ID which is "marcelsattic. It seems rather strange that if his first two ID's had been pulled from Ebay, how is he able to open another one? One would have to assume that it was done under false information, which would explain the reason for this guy to be useing an alias in this transaction. Haveing said all that, anyone with an ounce of sense can see that this guy is very deceitful!!!

The above rebuttal also sounds alot like a very defensive rant coming from a guilty person that is desperatly trying to convince others and himself that he's innocent. It's a very poor attempt at redemption. I've also seen him display this same behavior on other websites.

His antics are also widely discussed on several different drum and musical instrument forums and web sites. Just do a google search on this clown and see for yourself.

I only I HAD opened it up

AUTHOR: Sick of wankers - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 02, 2009

he Consumer Comment left, goes to the heart of the issue. I SHOULD have opened up that amp right there; if I had, this whole situation would have been avoided! I was at his house (though he lied there too and told me it was his brother's house...) for a total of maybe 30 minutes. I could tell from looking at the back of the amp, he had taken one of the 5881 power tubes out and put a 6L6GC in (wrong tube, stuck out like a sore thumb). Of course I knew it would need new tubes and some cleaning up and 'elbow grease' , but Integral parts changed out is something one could only know by taking it apart. Which is why he knew to call my Tech, because I told him the unit was going straight there.

Again, he told me a Tech had the amp "...on his bench for 4 hours, and it sounds great! I paid that guy $250 to make sure it was 100%" He looked me in the eye and said it was all original as his auction also stated:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220404274904&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123

I had never met this guy before. I don't just expect to get ripped off. If some one looks me in the eye and says, "I swear on my father's grave, it is 100%, and you know where to come if you have any problems, I'm a straight up guy...", I believe them. Although, now, I will for sure be checking everything twice and not just believing someone who swears on anyone's grave!!! If someone says, "My name is Marc" is there something their I should automatically not believe?
As far as his note, he signed that as 'Marc Dietz', he told me his name was 'Marcel Dietz', but it is PETER J. NAPOLI, I don't know 'Marc Dietz', never met him. I question whether he exists, and if he does, he should be pissed: Peter J. Napoli is going around doing shady deals and signing his name to them. How many friends let there other friend use there email to respond? It wasn't "Peter" responding to me through eBay and inviting me to see the amp at 64th Street and Bell Rd, it was Peter disguised as Marc..."come up to MY brother's house", not "My friend Peter wants you to come see the amp at his Brother's house..."
Bottom line- Peter J. Napoli defrauded me the moment I called him "Marcel" and he said "...call me Marc..."

As my Grandmother would have said, "This guy is full of It."

As far as him being a former NYC cop. (Though when talking to him on the phone after discovering his true identity. I said "Shame on you, you used to be a cop and you should know better then to fraudulently use someone else's name and represent yourself as them", he never said anything about not being a cop then, he was just silent...and we were on the phone that night for nearly 1 1/2 hours!) In the end, either way, that has no bearing on this at all. It is a total 'Red Herring'. Another local collector told me he was, in the same sentence as "...better stay away from that guy, you'll just get ripped off."

Like I already said, wish I had known his real name and his reputation before hand. Google drumjunkky or coolklosetklassics, his former eBay user names, you will see the many people that have been ripped off before by Mr Natoli.

My only fault in this all, was being far too trusting.

I only I HAD taken it apart...

I think you sold a 'bad amp.

AUTHOR: Andromeda - (U.S.A.)

Stop pleading and whining. To Me, it makes you look very guilty. In addition, you appear to me, to be 'lying' here.

1. No one would even need to change the power transformer on a working amplifier.

2. Because of (1) above, there would be no need to cut holes in the chassis.

3. If the buyer had really inspected the inside of the amp, found the bad transformer installation and the chassis holes, he wouldn't have bought the amp from you.
