PetSmart ex-employee, sexual harrasment Clearwater Florida

I had worked for PetSmart for 5 years. My first 4 years in a different state were great. I transferred to FL for my last year with Petsmart. I loved working for the company, but I must say that corporate is horrible.
I had been receiving weird comments from my store manager from day one. The comments got worse as time went on, eventually turning into sexual harasment. I reported each comment to my immediate supervisor. I was never taken seriously, I was always told that is how he is, and that he does that to everyone. I personally know of 2 other people who complained about the store manager and his inappropriate comments.

On one occassion a "special" customer came in, my store manager told me to make him happy. " Even if that meant doing sexual favors". The store manager was friends with the district manager and nothing happened to him. On more than one occasion he returned from lunch smelling like liqour. No one would stand up to this manager because of his known friendship with the district manager.

I was demoted for wanting to further my education.
After I quit I called loss prevention manager and explained everything to him. He wasn't surprised at all. The store manager has had more than one complaint of sexual harasment. Nothing has happened to this manager and the person who belived me, the loss prevention manager was fired.

After speaking to one of my old friends from PetSmart, she notified me that the old store manager was telling other managers that I was doing drugs. Not only did this man ruin my life while I worked there he is trying to after I left.

I hurt my shoulder one day after unloading many pallets of cat cans. When I told my store manager that I needed to go to the doctor he was very rude. I went and returned to work the next day with my arm in a brace, doctor's orders. The next day I was ignored and treated as if I had done something horrible. I ended up quitting that same day. My workers comp was denied.

This company has turned into something that it never wanted to become. Instead of focusing on the animals, the focus has turned to pushing sales. Store Sales came before everything. Even the animals in the stores care. I am fortuante that I no longer work for such a company, nor do I have to put up with sexual harrasment. No one should have to!
