The PGA Tour Partners Club sends unsolicited mail. When I first got it, with Tom Lehman as its spokesperson, it seemed legitimate. I paid some membership dues for a magazine subscription and the promise of other benefits, and ever since have simply received more unsolicited mail and bills from them. It is a horrible scam to steal my money, and I would be ashamed if I were Tom Lehman and had my name on such a hoax.

PGA Partners Club not as advertised

AUTHOR: Kelly - (Canada)

POSTED: Monday, September 26, 2011

I looked forward to joining the PGA Tour Partners Club when first solicited. I felt Tom Lehman as a spokesperson was a credible source and was quite impressed. Well, I joined in 1999 and did receive a very nice complimentary golf bag tag and for the first year, the Partners Club magazine. I faithfully participated in every contest and promotional event the magazine publicized and actually received a letter of welcome from Tom Lehman.

I did buy a carry golf bag with my name and the partners club logo stitched on the bag, but after an offering of $99 it arrived with a charge of $149 + tax +duty (resulting price $219). I tried to return it, but it came back with more postage due. It lasted one season as it soon started falling apart and the bag stand legs broke off at the hinge.

I patiently waited for product sampling to be sent my way, or possible giveaway prizes but to no success. I finally became a life time member as I felt the cost of the magazine would be worth the price alone. Well, no sooner did I get my lifetime membership card then the magazine stopped and communication stopped.

I waited about six months hoping there may have been a change in the structure and finally received a letter from the club stating the magazine was being discontinued but a subscription to Golf Digest would be replacing it. All contests and giveaways would still be relevant and enclosed in a separate handout with Golf Digest. None of this happened.

I finally decided to try and contact then on their website. This to proved futile as the site could not be found by the search engine on my Mac. I finally went back to my files and found a phone number that was included with the Lifetime Membership. The number was out of service.

Examine yourself

Hey - I've been a lifetime member of the club for almost 14 years and have no big complaints with them.
I think the problem is with the people who are complaining, you're part of the soft bellied people in this country who want it all without having to do anything for it and want it handed to you on a platter!

pga tour partners club "waste of time"

AUTHOR: tellonyou - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, March 13, 2010

I completely agree that pga tour partners club is a scam.

this  guy "hutch" sounds like an advertisement.  definately works for them.

I was so exited to get started but mostly to try out products and rate them.  what did I get to try out.  A small packet of bug repellent ( packaging was the same as the wet wipes you get at a restaurant).      HOW INSULTING.  I mailed a letter cancelling my membership right away.  Worse is as soon as you join they send  you  the lifetime membership as if you won something,.. before you even begin supposedly enjoying the benefits.  way too much junk mail.  and  fanfare for nothing.

What a waste of time.  Unless you retired and have  nothing better to do.  A big shame on you to Tom Lehman.

PGA TOUR PARTNERS CLUB OKAY

AUTHOR: Hutch - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 16, 2008

I would like to respond to the negative comments about the PGA Tour Partners Club. I joined this club 8 years ago and upgraded to a life membership four years ago. I do not understand the comments that this club is a ripoff and he was unable to receive any benefits. First of all, the "Partners magazine" is one of the best sources for goings on in the golfing world and is very informative. In addition, each member is entitled to a complimentary admission ticket to most PGA tour events (PGA, LPGA, Champions Tour, etc.) every year that you remain a member. This alone makes the $24.00 membership and the magazine subscription which is included in the membership fee worth every cent. Other benefits include the opportunity to test new products at no charge and be able to keep those products after trying them out and completing a short evaluation form rating each product and also being able to enter contests where you are eligible to win golf trips, golf products, and receive discounts through the club for catalog items and green fees at many golf courses across the U.S. I would like to stress that I have no connection to PGA Tour Partners other than having been a member of this fine organization for several years and will continue to recommend it to my friends and acquaintenances.
