"We didn't own and operate the system. We didn't invent it. We were just some of the many thousands of custodians. We inherited it."
-- Officer John Baird, one of six white policemen from one Philadelphia station who were simultaneously convicted of robbing, assaulting, and framing black people. These six were prosecuted only because one FBI agent decided to do his job, but even that was only to further his career. Normally, the FBI is indifferent to - and even covers up - the crimes of its fellow so-called law enforcement officers.

"Sadly, as bullets were flying in the streets this year, bad cops were running wild. A video of a Philadelphia cop walloping a woman was seen around the world. A group of questionable narcotics officers lost all credibility when the District Attorney's Office decided it wouldn't ask them to testify...anymore. A police inspector was promoted despite complaints of sexual harassment against him. A woman accused an Internal Affairs boss of sexual harassment. These bad cops...make residents distrust anyone with a badge. To even begin to combat these bad cops, the city needs independent police oversight with resources and teeth."  - Philadelphia Inquirer (12/27/12)

"Philadelphia police officers routinely manufacture criminal charges to retaliate against individuals who observe or record police activity." - Reggie Shuford, Executive Director, Pennsylvania ACLU

Daily News reporters Barbara Laker and Wendy Ruderman won the Pulitzer Prize for their "Tainted Justice" series, a yearlong investigation of the crimes of a Philadelphia police narcotics squad, including fabricated evidence, robberies of merchants, and sexual assaults of women.

Officer Aleksandre Shwarz fatally shot two unarmed 14-year-old children in separate incidents. He is the recipient of dozens of covered-up citizen complaints. Shwarz's 21-year reign of terror as a Philadelphia cop felon finally ended in 2011, after he was fired for being caught on video assaulting and framing a U-Haul manager. Google his name to watch the video.

Officer Frank Tepper was convicted of murdering 21-year-old William Panas. Tepper is the recipient of a staggering 35 prior complaints, including four for attempted murder. As almost always happens to Philadelphia's criminal cops, Tepper was cleared in all 35 complaints. Tepper was finally fired and prosecuted only because there were too many witnesses for Philadelphia's cop thugs to intimidate into silence.

Over 400 Philadelphia police officers have been convicted of crimes just since 1980. That translates to a mind-boggling five-percent career conviction rate. Nonetheless, most of Philadelphia's cops are immune from being fired, much less prosecuted, as per a 2004 prosecutor-conducted study. Extrapolating from the aforementioned facts, the majority of Philadelphia police officers are criminals.

Sure, Stacey, I will stop exposing Philadelphia police misconduct just because you say so. Never mind that over 400 Philly cops have been convicted of crimes just since 1980, which extrapolates to a staggering five-percent career conviction rate. I shall ignore the fact that a 2004 prosecutor's study showed that the vast majority of the city's crooked cops are immune from being fired, much less prosecuted. I shall be indifferent to an extrapolation from the aforementioned facts, which suggests that the majority of Philadelphia police officers are criminals. Ha! Stacey, you may now resume collecting welfare, maintaining your obesity, and watching Springer reruns. Your uneducated, unintelligent, uninformed, unsolicited opinions have no value.
