Philip Sumner rented me and many others his loft in Downtown Los Angeles. He asked about 30% above marked but promised to bring in filming and events. He litterally never did this. He also promised me AC and roof access. When I contacted the building owner, he told me that Philip did not have the authority to say these things and that he was not allowed to sublease this apartment to me in the first place! When I moved out Philip disapeared and never paid me my deposit.
Under NO cercumstanses sign a lease or do any business with him. He disapeared with thousands of dollars of my money. I've spoken with other people who have worked him and they have had similar experiences. Its time philip sumber (or birdson, he goes by multiple names) gets exposed for the fraudster he is.

Though I don't anymore, I used to fix up or build lofts, sublet them to long term tenants and as well advertise them to the film industry for use in commercials, TV shows, music videos and indie films. As tenants were paid 500-1000 for a day, pretty great set up and beneficial for all. Pretty sorry you've taken to a public forum to do this but as it is what it is, Ill address what you have said here. enjoy.
-promised anything... wishful thinking or a very active imagination. congrats!
-promised to bring in shoots... see above, and if you didnt get a shoot, boohoo, maybe decorate?
-30% mark up.. ya... so? was I a charity? And in what way? per sqft those lofts were below average for DTLA - your price, not mine.
-AC access.. many people had AC, you were allowed to install AC.. Were you expecting me to do it? i don't get it
-Roof access.. building always had roof access, if the owner stopped allowing it, news to me.
-Owner saying I wasn't allowed to sublease... well here we have to disagree. And if the owner said that I'm sure he had his reasons.
-Deposit? ...wow. As the city shut down the building (which I had nothing to do with, in fact you probably did... lesson for you.. dont "poop" where you eat) You like the others squatted for months. I covered out of my pocket nearly all of my tenants rents for 1-3 months depending on tenant... cost me 30 grand. thanks! deposit HA! right.

Goes to show, try to do something cool and the losers stomp around til its done. Ill bet you you didn't find a nicer place than I built for you after you squatted and had to leave. In fact, I'll bet you never will.
why not just email me instead of doing this online in an arguably slanderous, definately thoughtless way. Know that at a point I will be exploring where this does cross into slander and will certainly be looking to recoup what you cost me in rent plus expenses... just shoot me that email. If you are who I think you are, get ready. People, man, people... so close...
And Ripoff Report, without allowing true recourse for unjust personal attacks in public setting, there's a place waiting for you and you know it.
