phillips and cohen associates ltd unethical condust and fraudulent behavior wilmington, Delaware

I am a disabled individual that could not pay his credit card debt to Barclays (juniper).  I made an attempt to settle with Barclays but they would not respond and turned my debt to Phillips and Cohen Ltd - a collection agency.  After much discussion - I made an agreement with Mr. J--n Hi--ins of Phillips and Cohen to pay off the debt over time.  There were supposed to be no late fees or interest accrued during my payback period. The initial debt was $ 6000.00 and I made payments totalling $ 350.00 which would have brought my balance to $ 5650.00. Thiis was set up as monthly payments coming out of my checking account.

Lo and behold - I received a statement from Barclay's showing I owed over $ 6100.00 and they were charging me interest and late fees.

I immediately called Phillips and Cohen and was told that they had no control of what Barcdlay's was doing. They were supposed to be representing Barclay's but apparently Barclay's had no clue on what was going on. Sounds to me that they were RIPPING me off and fraudulantly representing Barclays. I told Phillips and Cohen they had broken our agreement and I will no longer pay any of this debt. I also wrote letters to the Michigan Attorney General's consumer protection division, Barclays Executive Office and Phillips and Cohen.  I live only on disability and am not required by law to pay this debt BUT I was attempting to be honest - guess it didn't work.  I only wonder how these debt collectors can sleep at night after knowing they continue to lie and get away with it.
