June 30 2008 was suppose to be a great day for my fiance and myself. We were buying our first new car together, a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, I was trading in my 2004 Toyota Matrix. My credit was not the best so I could not be on the Tahoe. I was ok with that we needed a new car and a bigger one, we just had a new baby and that made four great kids. So we seen and fell in love with the Tahoe. It was big enough to fit the whole family and their friends!! June 30th we went to Phillips Chevrolet to buy the Tahoe and trade my matrix in I had a loan on my Matrix for $1500.00 so they gave us $7000.00 minus $1500.00 make the trade in value $5500.00 for my Matrix Phillips was going to pay the loan off, everything was going good they said my fiance was approved and we left that day with the Tahoe. Life was good!!

Phillips called my fiance to set up a day so he could get TVs put in the headrest so the kids would be happy! Besides those phone calls we thought all was well. Then the finance manager called my fiance and said he was not financed and we needed to return the Tahoe, this was about 21-22 days later. After that I called the loan company to find out that Phillips had never paid the loan and I was in default, I was not happy at all.

The next day I received a phone call at home from a man stating he was a Detetive Benson from the secretary of state police and the caller ID even read that. He man knew everything about me my name, address, social security number, my work schedule, he even knew that I was on maternity leave. So of coarse I am going to beleive him, he told me that the loan company called him and told him what was going on and to not return the tahoe till I heard back from him, he said that what Phillips was doing was wrong, we did what he said and did not return the Tahoe.

We heard nothing from neither the loan company or Phillips for a couple of weeks. Then another phone call this time it was at my work not very friendly either the man said he was a detective from the secretary of state police and if I did not return the Tahoe they were putting a warrant out for my arrest and my fiances arrest, the man also knew where my fiance was at, at that time (orientation for a local police department). He said I better have the Tahoe at my house by 9pm or a warrant would be issued, I asked about my car and he said once they got the Tahoe then they would come back with my car. It did not sound right and I was in tears. I called my fiance right away and told him what just happened. After I left work I spoke with a police officer and he informed me that police can not call and harrasse you at work, so I knew it was not a real cop or at least not one that liked his job.

Later that night the man called my cellphone and started yelling at me and swearing at me and I had enough I told him you bring my car I will give you the Tahoe he was mad and told me there was going to be a warrant placed for my arrest and I said you do what you have to and I will do what I have to!! My fiance called the number back and told him to stop calling me my name is not even on the Tahoe. The man then threatened my fiance's job he told him that he was going to his work and telling them what he was doing and also told him he was not going to get the local police officers job.

Once we got home we were going to call the real police but the numbers that the man called from was the real police numbers. The next morning I called the secretary of state police officers head quarters in Springfield and they said they never heard of these people and they dont have detectives. He then gave me a number to their district one office. At that time we called right away and had to go there to file a report which we did. They were trying to help us.

Then in Aug. I drove the Tahoe to work and was running late so at lunch I went out to the Tahoe to get my purse and cellphone and the Tahoe was gone! I called the local police department and they had no report of any repos so I asked for an officer to come out so I can file a stolen car report he came and did nothing at all! He made me feel as if I was wasting his time and sure wished I could with hold my tax dollars!! I then called the secretary of state police to let them know. They did what they had to.

I then contacted the loan compnay to find out that Phillips made a deal with the loan compnay once Phillips got the Tahoe back Phillips would give them possesion of my Matrix. Phillips allowed my car to go into default with out my knowledge and now I have no car!! The secretary of state police officers told Phillips that they had to get my car back because it was getting put up for auction. Phillips did comply to the order and got my car back. But they never gave it back to me! I called the loan company to get my title just to find out they gave it to Phillips! WHY??? I have no idea the loan company stated that Phillips came in with a power of attorney letter not signed by me to get my title the loan compnay knew the situation and still gave the title to Phillips!

Now I have no car no title and some strange man knows all my information! At that point I was afraid to go to work or out of the house and sure was afraid to be home alone! The secretary of state police at that point said they could do nothing more to help us Phillips wanted me to pay them $1500.00 and sign a release waiver. My fiance went up there the day the police called and said we could go get my car and when he got there Phillips was not giving him my car, instead they called their local police and my fiance got told to never step foot back there again!! Nice how police help!!

I tried to keep in contact with Phillips sales manager so I could get my car back but when he faxed me the release and I seen what it said there was no way I could morally sign that waiver, it states that Phillips is not in the wrong! Well if they were not in the wrong why should I sign it! For a month it was back and forth with phone calls between me and the sales manager I had NO car and he has mine!!

Then in Oct. the sales manager asked for me and my fiance to come up to Phillips (which is about a 25-30mins north) it was also my son's 6th birthday party so I has to end it early to make it in time. We were late getting there (its not easy to call parents to pick their children up eat cake and open presents) but we got there and the salesmen that were at Phillips said that the manager left. My fiance and I both were beyond upset! As we were walking out my fiance pushed the door open (glass door) and it broke, he felt bad and turned to the salesman and apologized and said he would pay for it. The salesman yelled at him and was swearing at him and my fiance said call the police! Needless to sale the "great" sales manager made it up there before the police did and of coarse had my fiance arrested! The sales manager then told me I had until Monday to come back with cash to get my car or I was not getting it and he said it all in front of the local police!

I then tried to contact the sales manager and was told I had to sign the release to get my car! I was not nor will ever sign it! Then in Jan. at my fiance's court date the sales man that Phillips sent told my fiance if he signed his release they would drop the charges, they knew what my fiance did for a living and knew that the charges would hurt his job, so he signed it! My name is not on the release nor is my car (which is still registered in my name). Since Aug. of 2008 I have tried to contact lawyers and no one will take my case I have called lawyers from Northern Illinois to Southern Illinois and no one will help. I have called the secretary of state police for help and still no help. I have wrote Lisa Madagian and the better business bureau and not a phone call!

Now that it is March of 2009 I still have no car (but one regersted to me) and I have to get rides to work and to take my children to the doctors. My fiance has to get a ride up north twice a week to go to school and to work. This whole time Phillips has possession of my Matrix and NO ONE is willing to help us. Its sad how a car dealer can drive someone crazy and get a way with it! Big car dealers push little consumers around and it looks like Phillips keeps getting away with it!!
