wow, looks like I am not the only one and I am surprised there are soo many victims of phoenix business scam and yet these phoenix business ltd continues trading.  and just by goolging "phoenix business" it seem they are also on you tube and already been reported on tv on " rip off Britain"

Just like the usual complaints on here, These guys cold called me asking if I would like to sell my business. I guess they got my details from the advert that I had put up through other business sales agents and websites.

The phoenix business call centre they had set up called me asking if I would like to sell my business and If it was OK for one of their rep's to come and see me for a short meeting and it was without obligation. I agreed, since I was looking to sell the business anyway.

the rep turned up for a short meeting on an agreed time an date and at the meeting he had a good look at the layout of the building, the business type and the location, the Rep seemed very confident that he could easily sell the business within few weeks and no more then few months.

I was very sceptical about his claims and asked who would buy this business in this marke?, his reply was  " oh loads of people are being made redundant and they have redundancy money which they are willing to buy a running business as they no longer have a job". as it turns out this is the classic like they use.

The chap suggested that I ought to market the business for more then 80K, at which i pointed out that I do not believe my business was worth that much as its an unique business an not anyone can run my business and that you need a lot of product knowledge and technical experience and I am looking to sell to a serious buyer.
I categorically Told the phoenix businesses Agent that I had already put the business on sale with two other agents and that i am not willing to pay any fee if the other agents sells the business before they can. and it was a risk of marketing they would have to take, if they were interested. since I was willing to accept less then HALF of their own sale Figure suggested (i.e 40K of less) the Rep was more then happy to accept my condition, which was,  No documents or ID would be provided until a buyer comes along and no fee would be paid if any other agents sells my business.

but it appears they are not bothered about what conditions any one sets them, they are just willing to sign people up and get documents singed up. I had also agreed not to pay them an upfront marketing fee since they approached me.

on the 'to be singed' documents or contract which was extensively long with tiny writing, with loads of small prints that i did not have time to read, i still made sure that the Rep ADDED the following comments on the documents " if sold my other agents no fee would apply". (i have a copy of this)

since the initial welcome pack sent to me within few days which shows the layout of the advert they would post online, I have not heard from them for nearly a year. in the mean time I had agreed to sell the business few months ago with a client that I found my self and the transaction is now going though.

I got a phone call few weeks ago asking for last three years account, i didnt pay much attention to the call and then a reminder letter followed asking for accounts an EPC certificate and accounts. and then finally a bill for 7200 asking for the payment on the basis that i am due to pay the fee as i have not submitting the document they had asked for. (remember this was 11 months after i had any form of communication with phoenix businesses)

I wrote them a strong letter in the mean time (about two weeks ago) telling them basically to  "get stuffed" given the Circumstances.
today i got a phone call today, apparently it was from their Legal department that they would take me to court and unless I come to a mutual agreement to settle the matter out of court. Suggesting that they are doing me a huge favour. further more if i don't agree they would gather all sorts of information from inland revenue an my about submitted accounts. And no matter what they have a singed documents which was more valid then what was said by the Rep at the meeting, and it would cost me huge amount if I end up in court and barrister fee and so on.. I was polite enough to listen to his chap with all his threats but I was not interested if they reduced the fee of 7200 to 10 it was now a matter of principal.
the gentleman asked me which option i was wanted, i told him See you in court and i didnt care if it costs me over what they want as a fee.

now i am looking on here and it seems i am not the only one phoenix businesses are trying to scam.
i will wait for their Debt collectors letters and reply to them and ask them to take the matter to court. and believe me even if it costs me Double the fee they want to charge, I am more then happy to pay my own solicitors and legal representatives to see these SCAMERS in court, let them waste their money in court too. I am not looking for a fight but if needed I am not backing down regardless of the COSTS.

i shall post the dates of the court case, location and any other details on here for anyone who wants to come an watch these Scammers trying to get money in this totally dishonest manner.
