Daughter spent hours yesterday on the phone with her bank and with Phoenix Car Rental or known as Sabans as well. DO NOT do business with this company. They advertise to rent to ppl with no credit cards. They advertise to be super cheap and they have nice cars.

The car she agreed to pay 189.00 for Friday night to Sunday afternoon, has so far cost her $350.00. They state that they hold a deposit, which is understandable, and they refund the difference when you return the car.

This car that was supposed to be a great car, almost left her and my grandkids stranded on an out of state trip, it was almost overheating for the majority of the drive. Once she was on the highway out of town she realized that if you have to hit the breaks suddenly, the car would jerk left then right. Once you got to 65mph it began to shake. the air went out (over 105 degree weather) on their way home.

She called to complain about the car, the employee who answered the phone claimed to be the GM, hard to believe that the GM of a legitimate company would be the one answering the phone. Within the first 15 seconds of the phone call he was yelling at her, was >>extremely<< rude, told me her couldnt believe she was calling him for a stupid reason like this and that she was nuts. I was calling him to tell him of the problems with the car.

When she returned the car the employee kept her receipt showing her deposit amount, and the amount the refund was supposed to be when she returned the car. He refused to give the receipt back to her. When she told the employee about the problems with the car, his exact words were "Well it got you there and back now didnt it?".

We Googled the company and if you look them up you will see news reports about them and their scam, complaint after complaint. Also when the employee gave her the receipt from the credit card machine that was supposed to reflect the refund amount, the amount part was blank. She asked him for a receipt that actually had her refund amount on it, and he stated they were out of paper and he couldnt print one.
