 This company, Phoenix Integrated Sales Consultants, or should I say Smart Circle, is one big unethical scheme. I only worked there for a week until I figured it out. Let me start off by saying this: the company in question does not give you any information upon interview with the exception of three things. The first being, "you'll get 500 dollars weekly base plus commissions". The second being, "within 4-9 months you could be sitting where I am, a market manager" including how you move on up and whatnot. The last thing they made me aware of was that I would ALWAYS get that 500 dollars and my hourly wage regardless of sales.

All of those things were lies. The first day I went in to the office as an employee, they told me I was to be there to fill out paperwork. After filling out paperwork where I signed numerous contracts without reading them because they were rushing me to get done (later I found most of the contracts took away most of my legal freedoms against the company without my knowing) I was forcefully shoved into what they call "atmosphere". Everyone was screaming, clapping, throwing around high fives, music was playing, and it was quite overwhelming as no one ever mentioned atmosphere to me until they threw me in the "war room" where atmosphere is held. During this time, everyone talks about how amazing the job is and how amazing the owner (whom I will leave unnamed) is and how great the opportunity is.

Kinda cult like in my opinion. Anyway, I knew I was going to be a sales representative at that point and I ended up selling directv contracts in Sams Club. I was adept for the job and on my first week I made a few sales here and there. I was still learning and they never completed my training, so I was doing pretty well. One day, a day after I'd gone a few days without making sales, the owner was babbling in atmosphere like he does every single day, this time about how "everyone gets sent home sometimes, it's good for the work ethic blah blah" and then he said something along the lines of "Jane, will you step out?" So at that time I was pretty upset with myself and I got a long lecture from some girl about how my "energy is too low" and how I'm not interactive enough in am atmosphere. Then I went home. The next day, a Friday, I went in ready to work and the owner called me into his office.

He had my time sheet(they use time sheets for clock in/out there) and told me "write in the time you left yesterday" and so I did. Upon doing so I noticed something odd. There were three red lines through that day, Friday, as well as Saturday and Sunday. My boss's initials were next to the lines. He gave me a pep talk and tried to get me both enthused and away from that time sheet as fast as he could without any questions. it worked, and I didn't get to clock in for that Friday. Without thinking I went to the store and I worked my hardest. After three days of no sales, I finally made one. Later that night I got to thinking about my time sheet and how sketchy that seemed. I did some research. The characteristics of this employer matched those of a pyramid scheme, better known as a multilevel marketing scheme. Upon further research, I noticed that a company called "Smart Circle" was at the top of the results upon searching on google about MLM schemes. And then it hit me. The guy who I had sold directv to that day asked me "who is smart circle?"

when I had him on the phone to get set up for an installation date. I told him that was just the call center that processes directv installs. I lied to him not even knowing what smart circle really is. Smart Circle worked very hard to keep me from knowing their true name, their true function. I can bet I know why. So I went in the next day with full intention to A) get my hourly wage for that Friday, and B) quit working there entirely. My boss called me into his office and said "you made a sale yesterday!!!" and then pulled out my time sheet and said to go ahead and write my clock in time for the previous day. his plan became clear to me then. no sales, no hourly wage. Exactly the opposite of what he said during my first interview. Sketchy, cult like, downright unethical. Brainwash tactics are used. Don't work there or you'll experience something very similar to what I did. I have yet to receive my paycheck in my bank account, so I'm not entirely sure if they were paying me less than the specified wage yet or not. What I do know is, I don't trust this company. you shouldn't either.

Cue a Legal Notice in 5, 4, 3,....

AUTHOR: Giselle - (United Kingdom)

Well-written review and good information.  I expect the Legal team will be along shortly to post their Legal Notice, like with other similar complaints. I guess no one ever told them TRUTH is an absolute defense against any claims of Libel / Slander / Defamation.

 America = Litigious society!
