I would like to inform you that no one but you can take out a loan, particularly through SallieMae, other than you. In order to receive financial aid funding, which contrary to uneducated belief are grants AND loans, you had to fill out a FAFSA application and an MPN through Sallie Mae.

In order to even go through Sallie Mae, you requested loans for school, otherwise you would not have signed up with this lender. You unfortunatly have signed legal documents to this affect.

You stated "in fact, never told me that they would be taking loans from Sallie Mae under my name if the money from FAFSA wouldn't arrive on time". It's not that the money from FAFSA didn't arrive that you owe the loan money!!!! FAFSA is Pell grant and student loan, so if you feel you were mis-informed, I hate to tell you that you did not read the application you filled out.

To concerned parties of Axia College and the University of Phoenix,

While I know the complaints seen here and numerous other times on ripoffreport have been founded on sour experiences, I'd like to ask those with legally solid information to please step forward with your legitimate claims for the benefit of all future students.

It appears that the majority of claims here have been filed under the pretext of poor customer service, or in this case, poor educational counseling. Some "advisors", or "educational sales representatives" as I've come to know them, have indeed performed their tasks poorly and not covered every essential aspect of the "deal" yet haven't actually committed any crimes of fraud or libel as numerous reports have allegated. It's disheartening to think you've entered into a contract or committment with an institution that has done these things, so these claims , if legally unfounded, are both harmful to the institutions they are aimed at as well as any past, present, and future students who have chosen to invest their education with them. Can more details please be provided for these specific cases of wrong-doing? Perhaps a declaration of which laws they have actually violated, or which rights they have infringed upon with at least a minimum of intended follow up action listed afterwards. This would greatly help those like myself who are attempting to better understand this institution and their practices.

I've only completed a total of 15 credits with Axia College and already have a variety of opinions on the actual quality of the education you recieve and/or the value it holds for me, personally. Yet no actions made so far on their part have been shady, mullied, round-about, or even hard to understand. Perhaps these complaints have made their way to the top and down again- my advisors could not make it more clear that they wanted me to understand both their policy, practice, my committment, and answer all of my questions. If they are guilty of anything, its their desire to accept students without even so much as a pre-examination of literary skills or educational aptitude, followed by a minimally interactive classroom environment where students are literally required to teach themselves the material at hand and prove their knowledge through a variety of small, literarily intensive assignments.

For those of you who are looking to attain a degree here to further your position at work, switch careers, or enrich your lives, all you really need to be concerned with is UoP's existance on this list. Policies are in place with the organizations providing accreditations that ensure the quality of the education under their approval is adequate. No one can take the Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree you earn here away from you, and your life skills (ie previous work experience, personality, interview impression) will matter a great deal more than the college you attended when actually applying your degree in the field.

I will be following this post and future posts for a while to see if there were any questions or comments on my refute. I'm interested in getting to the bottom of this reputation dispute so I can make my own informed decisions, not to somehow derive enjoyment out of belittling someone's experience.
