Pic & Pay Auto Told that leaking oil on day 2 of driving that it would stop automatically after sealant set. It was May and the car is still leaking, smelling like chemicals, and transmission skips. Waldorf Maryland

I purchased a 2001 vehicle with just around 60,000 miles as a Christmas gift for my teenager. Paying about $2,500 deposit and $200 bi-weekly for 5-months they finally accepted the car back and as promised did not return any money to me. Within a week of getting the car, it was leaking oil, fumes smelling throughout the car, one back door inoperable and a back door window was not working. Although they say that all fluids are topped off when you buy the car. Ray, Repair Lead asked me if i had gotten an oil change within the week. I informed him that i didn't think it necessary because we just brought the car but that I would take it for an oil change.
After paying about $100 for new oil filter and synthetic oil the car continued to leak. Pic and Pay did fix the window and the door lock. Unfortunately, within 2-months the window was no longer working again and the other back seat door lock wouldn't work. Pic and Pay said it would cost be over $500 for materials and labor. When they said "as-is" they mean it. After paying another $2,000 - $3,000 in payments, we started to oil the car every other week. Finally taking it to another auto repair shop (now at about 62,000 miles) for an oil and filter change, we were told that the car could not be driven and that because it was in such aweful conditition they were afraid to do the requested service. They recommended service that would cost over $800. I again took the car back to Pic and Pay (about my 6th trip for some type of repair or another) and was told that it would cost well over a thousand dollars to fix the problem. They willing agreed to let me out of my contract if I don't in essence tell anyone about my problems and also that i won't try to get my money back my any other means. Two weeks pasted and the same car was on their lot for sale.
My son who also paid a substantial down payment also returned a car to Pic and Pay without any refund. The transmission was bad in that one. Again, the car was resold to the public.

Yes this person and her son purchased vehicles from us, both vehicles purchased in Dec 2012. The customer’s son returned the vehicle in March of 2013 with body damage. Yes! We released him of the balance of his contract and did not sue him. Once the body damage was repaired and vehicle md inspected, we resold the vehicle. The vehicle did not have a transmission problem the issue was an anti-locking brake sensor on one of the tires. We replaced it before selling the vehicle. The vehicle sold within 30 days and the customer who bought it has never said a word about the transmission. He is still driving it and makes his payments.
The Parent who bought the other vehicle in Dec. 2012 returned it in May of 2013 once the account moved to a credit reporting financing company. And again we released her of the remaining balance of her contract and did not sue her. We had the vehicle Md. inspected it only need a few items, out we did the need repairs and resold the vehicle in June of 2012 the new customer has never complain about the vehicle in fact she has stated on several occasions that she loves her vehicle.
I did forget to mention that the parent’s child who she bought the vehicle for ran over something and ripped a piece underneath the car off, oh yea the parent claimed was our fault..????
We do not sale our financed vehicles "AS IS" we sale them with a 30 day or 1000 mile warranty 50/50 which means the repair to the window regulator was not covered under the warranty so I commend us for covering it at our expense. However it is not our responsibility to maintain a person’s vehicle it is the customers. These are used vehicles they come with used parts. We don’t tell customer that they will last forever and that they will never have a problem. We tell them the truth they are used vehicles.
