I bought a Boxer puppy on the Internet from Billy Thomas and Angie Lopez a little over two months ago.  The early pictures of the puppy looked great, he was a fawn colored puppy with a lot of white markings, he looked a little skinny, but Mr. Thomas told me that was because he was under stress from being treated for worms.

I paid the entire amount up front $1500 for this puppy, it was agreed that if something happened and I couldn't have the puppy I would be refunded the whole amount.

When it was almost time to pick up the puppy, on the third of January, I called Mr. Thomas.  He was not available, instead I got Ms. Lopez, who was at first confused as to who I was, and then being very rude to me told me it would be another two weeks before I could come and pick up my puppy.  When I asked why, she couldn't tell me and asked me to call back later when Billy was there.  Later that evening, when I called back, Mr. Thomas explained that my puppy needed to stay the additional two weeks for weaning from his mother.

After the two weeks went by it was finally time to pick up my puppy, I hadn't seen a picture of him since he was four weeks old, but I had memorized every detail over the six weeks, after looking forward to having him come home for so long.

When I went to Mr. Thomas' house on a Saturday to pick up my puppy he was 10 weeks old, I didn't recognize him from the pictures I had studied so much, in my anticipation!  His white markings were so different than in the picture, it didn't look at all like him!  He was very thin and had a lot of fuzzy long hair; his coat was dull and not shiny.  I asked Mr. Thomas if I could see his parents, he took me outside behind his house and showed me his kennel.  His Boxers were all living outside in a small kennel with only simple dog houses for shelter. It was very muddy then and the dogs were
covered in mud and feces.  I couldn't get near any of them because they were trying to jump all over me.  It was a very sad experience to see these dogs living outside in the middle of winter, in the mud, and completely lonely and starved for attention.  Mr. Thomas didn't have a lot of dogs,
maybe 10 or 12, but to me his back yard looked like a puppy mill.  The type of place where sweet and innocent dogs are exploited as commodities for a persons financial gain.

I told Mr. Thomas that I didn't think the puppy was very healthy looking, and I wasn't sure he was the same one I had picked from the photos.  He assured me that he was the puppy I had paid for and that I would be happy with him.  After his persistent arguing that the puppy would be a good pet, I eventually gave in and accepted the puppy.

After we got home and unloaded Sam (we decided to name him that) I noticed that he had been sick and had several very loose stools in his crate, Mr. Thomas had assured me that he was crate trained at eight weeks of age, so I became concerned.  He was almost lifeless and seemed to be scrunched up like he had a sever stomach ache.  We could tell that he felt very bad.  The next day, on Monday, we went to the vet to have him checked out, the news was not good.  The veterinarian found Giardia and Roundworms active in the stool sample.  He also told me that Giardia is contagious for people too; fortunately our children hadn't been allowed to play with the puppy because he felt ill!  The veterinarian also noted a heart murmur; he said it was grade two, but not life threatening when puppies are young.  Since then every time I have called Billy and Angie to tell them about Sam I dont get an answer, so I emailed them, and still have not had any reply.  My puppy is doing better now after the medication the veterinarian prescribed.  We love Sam dearly, but I feel that for the price I paid, and the conditions I saw in Mr. Thomas kennel, I was cheated.  I am worried that the heart condition will worsen and become a major health issue as Sam gets older.  I feel as though I paid $1500 for a puppy that was of the same quality as the $300 puppy mill Boxer dogs advertised in my local newspaper classified ads.

Picture perfect delivers perfect boxers

I recently purchased a puppy from Billy.  I did my research before I bought my boxer and Picture Perfect Boxers appeared to be the best around.  During my research I stumbled across this website.  I almost changed my decision based off the information posted.  Luckily I didn't pay attention to this website and trusted my instincts.  Billy has been the best breeder I could have ever hoped for.  He has put me in touch with local breeders to help me start showing my new puppy.  He helped me find a local vet to crop his ears.  He promptly sent us the akc paperwork and all of his vet records.  Billy has been there for me all the way and I am confident he will be around in the future if I have any questions I need answered.  I am not sure who posted these posts or what their motives were, but there is no way they are referring to the same breeder I dealt with.  I am glad we adopted Grant, aka Maximus.  He is a georgeous, healthy, well taken care of puppy.  Billy even managed to potty train him at 8 weeks of age.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me.  Billy has my number.

Picture Perfect Boxers are dishonest about me

AUTHOR: Trent - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, February 11, 2013

I bought a puppy from Billy Thomas in January of this year, 2013.   When I asked about picking him up I was told it would be another two weeks before I could.  When I went to Mr. Thomas' house to get him, I believe that the puppy I was shown was not the puppy I had put a deposit on!  The feeling I got was that something had happened to the puppy I had chose, either it had died or was sold to someone else.  Judging from the pictures, the puppy I received could have been one of the other puppies from the litter that was less flashy, and therefore less suitable to be a show dog.

I couldn't believe the conditions that his Boxers lived in!  Outside in the winter, in the mud and cold weather.  I wanted to take all of them home with me the moment that I saw them, they looked so sweet!

I don't like to accuse someone of being dishonest without proof, with that said, it feels like Mr. Thomas was being disingenuous with me, something seemed to be amiss with the situation.  I questioned the appearance of the puppy upon arrival, and Mr. Thomas assured me that it was the puppy I had selected.  I wasn't sure, and when I told him that he may have made a mistake he became angry and dismissive of my concerns.  I accepted the puppy, since I had no other choice than to walk away.  After loosing our last Boxer at just eight years of age I still felt assured by Mr. Thomas' claims that his Boxers were healthier than average.

I took Sam to the vet, the day after I got him, he was diagnosed with a grade two heart murmur. My vet assured me that Sam could be alright with a heart murmur, I remember our last puppy Missy who also had a heart murmur, she was ok until one night I found her on the floor vomiting and unresponsive.  She lived to be eight, but it was so hard to see her go, and the thought that Sam might have the same problem, as such a young puppy, really scared our family.

We love Sam so much!  I pray that he will never have serious problems from his condition.  Whether or not he was the puppy we chose first, we love him just the same! We couldn't imagine having any other puppy but Sam!  If Mr. Thomas doesn't want to discuss the situation with us, it's ok, at least we have Sam, and can look forward to a few more years with an amazing puppy.

I have the documentation to show that I got Sam from Mr. Thomas, including the bill of sale and AKC registration.  I don't feel it is secure to post such revealing details to support my side of the story.  I'm concerned about the attraction that it might bring to me personally, as well as publishing Mr. Thomas' address and contact information.  If anyone want's to contact me about it you can send me a private message on this website.  I'm not asking for anything from Mr. Thomas, I just want to get my experience with him out for other people to be aware of.

All in all, I think Mr. Thomas intends to be a good person, he seems to let greed get in the way of making good decisions when it comes to his animals.  I just wanted to relate my experience with other people, to make them aware of the potential risks when buying a Boxer puppy.

POSTED: Wednesday, February 06, 2013

This is a bogus report show proof you bought a puppy from them such as akc papers ,bill of sell and post your vet report. And where does the ABC Boxers and Bulldogs come into play?

I dont believe you got a puppy from them and you are lying. And what is Angies phone number post that also. But I know you wont post the copy of the vet report or akc papers because you dont have either. And not only that I watch their web site all the time and they never had puppies 2 months ago.
