Steve and Sheila Wallace took a job to level our double-wide so that we could put an addition on for our children. During the course of the job, Steve and his 'workers' would disappear. Especially when I told them I wanted to speak to him about the job.

During the course of the work, one older man was sleeping on the front deck. The answer given was "everyone else went to lunch - I stayed behind". The brick was taken out of the front of the skirting, trash was left everywhere, Steven's crew destroyed a brick fire-pit in the back yard and used that brick in the skirting of the house, and threw bricks at our dogs that were in a separate pen away from the house. The workmanship was beyond shoddy.

Steve Wallace was given a chance to fix the problems and clean up the mess left in our yard. Not only did he NOT fix the problems, he and Sheila filed a small claims hearing against my wife and I trying to bully us into payment. At this hearing, Steve and Sheila blatantly lied about the contract, the disaster left at the premises, and about anything of substance associated with the contract!

The case was taken up to Superior Court as now to 'fix' their inability the cost would be over $10,000. During the hearing, Steve and Sheila again lied about their 'corporation' as she was the 'vice president' but under oath swore she had 'nothing' to do with the business. And these items were proven by printouts gained from the State public records and copies of the contract and hearing for small claims. During the hearing, it was testified that Steve had never leveled a double-wide before! They took the job knowing they could not do it! An area inspector confided that Steve and Sheila Wallace 'bully' people into paying and most will pay for the shoddy work because the 'legal' way allows for the loop hole for them to hide their assets!

After going three years of courts and trying to keep the house repaired as the damage done to our footers/piers has caused the house to begin to separate at the marriage line, we finally received a judgment against Piedmont Construction.

The superior judge, O. Smith, signed the order so that Steve and Sheila could not be sued personally. Since the onset of the hearings, there have been no filings with the State of North Carolina for their incorporation status and according to the tax office in Person County, Steve and Sheila have been problematic in paying taxes.

Have also found out that Steve and Sheila have transferred all assets out of the Piedmont Construction business and into personal holdings or sold outright. This tactic has been used before by Steve and Sheila Wallace to dodge judgments against them.

In 2006, Steve and Sheila Wallace have built a new house and she drives around in a Cadillac Escalade! Must be nice taking people for a 'ride'. So now, my wife and I are working daily to repair the damage done to our home by this 'distinguished' member of society. And our kids still do not have the additional bedrooms.
