My sister in law and i had the worst experience today at Pink Lime Calgary today.  She had purchased two coupons from deal find.  The deal was $50.00 for a Mani, Pedicure, and a 30 min massage, or wash and cut.  Shortly after she bought them, she called to book us appointments and was told they were to busy and it would be at least 6 months before we could get in.  Well by the time we used them, it was over a year.  She booked the appointment and gave them the voucher numbers.  We went to our appointment today with nothing said when we checked in.  We went back to start our Mani, Pedi. About five minutes into it  one Of the girls told us the coupon was only good for a soak and if we wanted colour it would be an additional $4.00.  I laughed and said that was fine, should have expected that.  Then she said if we wanted the full pedicure it would be an additional $25.00.  I told them to go ahead.  Really, what is the point getting a pedicure done when its just putting your feet in soap water.  After the girl was done giving me my 15 min pedicure she told me she was not going to do my colour until after my massage. She then left for 10 min and told me she was going to set up for my Manicure.  When we sat down to get our nails done they soaked our nails for less then 10 seconds and proceeded with our quick manicure. My girl left and said she was going to get ready for my massage and I should wait in the waiting room for my nails to dry.  When my sister followed two minutes latter, she said she was told the hair salon was running behind and that it would be a bit.  Well my girl never returned but the owner did. He came and sat down and asked how are experience was so far. We told him it was OK. Then he started to explain to us that the vouchers we have were no longer valid. He started to talk in circles about how we are only Entitled to the amount we paid for the vouchers and not the full value. He felt bad and he was going to honor it because he felt bad. He wanted to fulfil the voucher but would have to charge us  50%. When I asked him what the issue was, he said it was because the voucher was expired. When I asked him to point out the expire date he pointed to the fine print and said that he had talked to his legal team and it was all explained in the fine print.  I read it four times and asked him again to show me where the expiry Date was. He looked at me and said it was there just in legal terms.

This is the fine print that he insisted stated the expiry date:

This discount voucher has no expiration date: partial redemptions: if you redeem the voucher for less then the total face value, you will not be entitled to receive any credit or cash for the difference between the face value and the amount you redeemed, unless otherwise required by law. You will only be entitled to a redemption value equal to the amount you paid for the voucher less the amount you paid actually redeemed.  Redemption value: if not redeemed by the discount voucher expiration date this voucher will continue to have a redemption value equal to the amount you paid at the named merchant for the period specified by applicable law. The redemption value will be reduced by the amount of purchases made. This voucher can only be maid for making purchases at the named merchant. It cannot be redeemed for cash or applied as payment to any account unless required by law. Neither deal find nor the named merchant shall be responsible for vouchers that are lost or damaged.

I told him that our family owed our own company and have looked into these type of vouchers, and that I knew how they worked. I told him I understood what the fine print said but that there was no expiry date on the voucher. He said that from this point on the service was done, and if we wanted to continue with our service we would have to pay for it. I told him that this was wrong and that we would not be coming back. He said fine, and said he would get our coats. We went up front to pay and we returned to me and asked what our company was. I told he what we did and he wanted the name. So I told he because I had nothing to hide. He gave me a pleased look , shook his head and said ya, and walked away.

I think this is a sick way for a owner to treat customers. We should have been told when we booked, when we walked in, or even when we were sitting in the back for 10 minute before anything was started. I think they new full well that they wanted to scam us, and I am sure we are not the only ones. Stay away from this place!!!!
