My husband and I purchased 3 single hung windows from this company in August 2006 for our kitchen. We paid $411.00 as a down-payment until the windows were installed, then the remainder would be due on completion. We decided to postpone installation due to our family dog contracting cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. We called pitcher perfect to cancel, however, they said they would postpone installation to make it easier on us financially at the time.

We received a phone call at the beginning of October 2006 saying we needed to set up a date to put the windows in. We explained our situation once again and reported we had already made arrangements to postpone installation due to our dog's situation. My husband received yet ANOTHER phone call today, October 31, 2006, from Mr. Scott Pitcher himself stating that he had tried contacting us "on several occasions" and that we "refused to return his calls" then he had "no other option than to contact his business attorney"!!!!! Pitcher perfect contacted us 1 time and I have our phone records to prove it.

I immediately looked on the badbusinessbureau.com website and found this company listed 3 times in 3 different cities. I phoned Mr. Scott Pitcher to notify him that I was cancelling my order completely due to the poor business reports I found, the lies in regards to the "unanswered phone messages", and his highly unethical business practices. I also notified him that I would be spending the $822.00 remainder for MY attorney. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go elsewhere for any window or siding work. These people are not worthy of your business!

Understanding what happened.

AUTHOR: Contractor - (U.S.A.)

Believe me I fully understand the concerns expressed here. One thing I don't understand is why a company with three addresses is treated as if that is proof of a scam. Pitcher Perfect is family owned bussines that is based out of Peoria Il. It is only proof of Pitcher Perfect's excellent business practices and growth that has allowed an additional store to be opened in Moline, Il. and just outside Rockford, il.

The other key point here is that the customer order CUSTOM BUILT windows. Those windows would not fit in any other house in the world. They signed a contract agreeing to have those windows installed or to cancel the order within 3 business days. Once the windows are made by the manufacteror they cannot be unmade. Once they are made, Pitcher Perfect has to pay for them. If you read the post, this whole story takes place over the course of two months. If you tell me to build you something, sign a contract saying you will pay for it when completed, you can't expect me eat the costs of materials if you bail at the end.

One last thing, I would like to address the comments about the deposit. There was once a time that Pitcher Perfect did not require depsosits, but unfortunately because of a hand foll of people like "Jenny" we have no choice now.
