I am unsure of the legalities of using peoples actual names, so I will not use them at this time.
I have been subjected to 16 months of hardship by this company. Emerald City Pizza is a franchise of Pizza Hut. 16 months ago, 2 friends/co-workers (a married couple) of mine had a "falling out" of a very personal matter. This happened away from work and was not a "work" related subject.
The wife of this couple after having an argument while at work with her husband, moved into the store managers house where she continude to live for aprox. 3 months.
These "friends" used thier influance in the company to harass me. they even got the Manager to cut me down to 2 days a week, while their schedule remained unchanged. the three of us were close and we had, had the exact same schedule together for several months.
over the next 5 months my manager tried to "constructivly dischage" me, called me names, took me of the time clock while I was out on deliveries, spoke openly with my co-workers about his personal feelings about the personal aspects of our (the couple, my wife and I) lives.
I went through chanels and was at first told that nothing was going to be done about my situation. I contacted the head office to protest and the matter was sent back to my District manager. She eventully fired the store manager but nothing was offerd to me about what I had been put through for many months, not even an apology. I had been subjected a 60% loss of income, my family went hungery and came close to loosing my house.
I was transferd to another store and was denied a copy of the report from the investigation to my grievance and was told that if I wasnt happy I should quit.
Over the next several months I was subjected to numerous forms of harasment by the Husband of this couple. my wifes car was vandleised, I was slanderd by this indevidual to my peers at work, he even called in a "concern" to the city about recent construction on my home and now more recntly, I stopped at my bank after work to eat some fastfood I had bought on the way home, with the intent to make a withdrawl from its ATM and then went down the main drag to buy gas at the AM/PM there. while on the road, this "husband/ex friend" happened to be infront of me on a delivery. I was behind him for 3 traffic lights, then he went east and I went west at the 4th light.
The next day I am confronted by my District manager and asked about my personal time and questioned about my being at my bank and why I buy gas where I do.
A week later I am banned from the store the "Husband" works at (this is in the same parking lot as my bank).
Now here is another thing going on with this company at the same time and related....
Last summer 7/22/04 I was told by my store manager that "they" cant find my Personell file and am asked to make a new one.
After work that day I went to the "old" store my file had been in and asked the current manager if he had seen it. He told me that he had given it to my District Manager 2 or 3 days before.
Feeling that it must be safe now I dropped the matter. my concern was that, this "husband/ex-friend has a long history with the law with burlagry and theft as well as some other things. He has boasted many times in the past about how he knows how to use peoples personal information to hurt them.
now with the more recent events i asked my District manager if she had seen my personell file. She told me was sure she had seen it around someware and would look for it. I let her know that was great, I wanted to see it. She then began to explain to me that due to employee transfers, time and the fact that the head office isnt very large, that they regularly destroy personell files every year or so. My district manager assured me she would look into it.
A week later she told me that "I now do remember destroying your personel folder last year (at this time I have worked for Pizza Hut for almost 4 years.)
I asked for this in writting, expecting a copy of an "records Autherization form and confirmation report" as per Pizza Hut policy.
Instead I recieved a hand written note (copy) stating: " I destroyed (DJ) dupicate file folder sometime one year ago".
The folder that disapeared from my old store was the Original personell file. The one on file now (wich the head of human resouses says is the original) is the one I was asked to make just last summer, nothing in it is from before last summer/spring, all documents are from the time I worked only at my present store. Interesting thing is the folder now states clearly on its outside "transferd file from East Bremerton Pizza Hut" this is the old store I worked at and havnt in well over a year now. of note also is this file folder that this is written on is printed on with policies and these all bear my signatures from 7/22/04, this is 3 months after I had quit working at the eastside store.
The Head of Human recouses also has informed me, that as a franchise they are not subject to Pizza Hut policies, however, they offer the Pizza Hut policies manual to thier employees when asked to view thier policies.
I look forward to any comments suggetions,or hopefully some expiriances someone may have had with Emerald City Pizza/Pizza Hut.
