Advance Placement Services the notorious scam artists are changing their name to still continue business.  These people take money from customers with no intention of doing the "locating."  Their business operates by taking the down payment and running.  THEY are SCAM ARTISTS.

Now they are doing it with a different name since the BBB has removed their accreditation.  Jay Baird and Steven Baird's inbred family fiasco of a business revolves solely around stealing people's money.  They WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY straight from your account if you don't want out.  They did this to me.  Don't let it happen to you and make sure you are never dealing with Steven Baird or Jay Baird or their Jennifer Baird.

Avoid PLACEMENT SERVICES this is the new company name they are operating under.  They WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY and run absolutely.  Look them up on Ripoffreport and anywhere else.

The Real Story

AUTHOR: Jay - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 27, 2012

This complaint is from one of our past clients, Andrew Park, who hired us back in 2009 to secure locations for 10 soda/snack combo machines. My company secures locations for all type of vending machines and we do it nationwide.

After conferring with Andrew on his geographic perameters, and the types of locations he preferred, we sent marketing brochures to 100's of businesses in his specified area of Southern California.  We quickly secured these three locations:

Andrew Park rejected all of these locations, even though we pled with him to take our professional advice and deliver machines to these businesses, because we felt strongly that these accounts were very good but he refused. We then assigned a door to door locator to secure the locations for him and she drove over 100 miles to work for Andrew. She worked all day and secured three accounts for his vending business, but Andrew only accepted one of the locations. In the end, we refunded him $618.75 of the $1375 he paid us.

Andrew Park decided to become an entrepreneur in the vending business and he hired us to secure locations for his vending machines. We spent a ton of time, resources and money to secure locations for his vending business and we were having success, but he fought us at every turn. Everyone from my company came away from their dealings with Andrew Park feeling like he just wasn't a nice person.  To run a successful vending service business you need great people skills and some business sense.  Andrew Park most definitely didn't have either.  Paying our company a few hundred dollars should not have resulted in the demise of his business.  At best, Mr. Park is too emotionally immature to run a business.  At worst, he is unbalanced, as the work that we did for his company was three years ago and he is still carrying this level of anger against us.  It is important to note that our company lost money on this venture as well, and we were in a business to business relationship with Mr. Park.

In the past, we tried to take the high road by not responding to unfounded complaints.  However, we are finding that to stay alive in this economy, we have to play the game.  We will not respond to complaints placed on line about our company from competitors, which are posted to make our company look bad.  We will respond to complaints from legitimate clients.  Even then, we will not put out information to personally hurt anyone.  Not clients, not competitors.

Mr. Park should take responsibility for the role he must play in running a successful business.  We are just a service.  If our service didn't work for him, he could have hired another locating service, or tried to get locations on his own.  We are teeny, tiny piece of the puzzle and we charge accordingly.  If Mr. Park was half as diligent in running his vending business as he is at trying to hurt us, he'd be awarded vendor of the year.  We took a loss on our taxes for the business we conducted with Mr. Park back in 2009 and closed the books on it.  Interestingly, our company lost more on the transaction than his company did.  Everyone lost.  It is time to move on.

By the way, we changed our name after 15 years as Advance Placement Services to coincide with the name of our website, which we established 10 years ago.  We did this for the competitive advantage it gives us with organic search optimization through our website.  We completed every job we took in as Advance Placement Services.
