I'm not saying anything specifically about this particular company, but any time you have "won" something, or a "free trial" is offered, and the business wants PAYMENT INFORMATION - to "give" you something - HUGE RED FLAGS!
If you analyze the emails from the perspective of a lawyer, which I'm not!, but if you do, they probably have carefully protected themselves with "legalese" and "business jargon" that essentially says you are ELIGIBLE to win. Even if it says YOU ARE A WINNER, is there an * (star) next to that phrase?
Any time that someone wants your payment information, TO GIVE YOU SOMETHING - they are going to be using that information, and it WON'T be for depositing funds.
I will allow for any rebuttals that claim otherwise - I don't know every company, I don't know every person on earth, either.
But as a consumer, if they want payment info FROM YOU - THEY PLAN TO TAKE YOUR MONEY, one way or another.
