A sales rep, Kelly Cannon, with Platinum Protection, LLC, came to my home to offer me a new security system. He advised my husband and I, that we had 3 business days to cancel this order. If we did cancel the order, Platinum Protection would send out a tech to remove their alarm system and put our old system back in. After complaining to several levels of management at Platinum Protection, the tech came out to remove their system and was able to put our old system back in. Due to the alarm company's codes, they could not input ADT's codes to get my old system activated again. I had to have ADT come out to input their codes and was charged $75.00, their hourly labor rate.

At the sales meeting between, Kelly Cannon, my husband and myself, we were never informed that we would have to pay out of our pocket to have our old system activated. If Kelly's sales pitch was an honest one, he would have advised my husband and I that we would be responsible for any activation fees, if we decided to cancel with Platinum Protection. He did not disclose any of this information, in order to make the sale.

Kelly Cannon has given this same sales pitch to several of my neighbors, who are also going through this cancellation process with Platinum Protection.

These are unethical practices where a salesmen is sitting in your home and selling you a product and informs you that you can try it out for 3 business days. We were told if we were unsatisfied with the product, we can cancel before the 3rd business day and our old system would be put back together. I cancelled my order on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 2:11pm. This was on the 1st business day after the installation, which was done on Saturday, October 4, 2008.

I received a call from Platinum Protection's Reimbursement Department, stating they have received my ADT charges of $75.00 but the best they could do was reimburse me half of the $75.00= $37.50. I was told that a check would be mailed to me and I advised Tyson in the Reimbursement Department, that he could send the check but I was expecting full payment of what I have been out of pocket. He stated that he will make a notice of the complaint.
