Tired of this company calling my company and my subsidiaries about "being selected" to appear on one of their national television programs. Yes, they require a licensing fee to cover their front end costs associated with the show's production (uh-huh) and then they promise to include you in selected markets if they can purchase them, and then the time slots available are always on PAX television and not a key demographic for viewing at 5:30 in the morning or weekends.

I visited them for a possible segment and their production offices are nice, but clearly are a bunch of telephone solicitors looking to make a deal and collect by fronting and closing in on a licensing fee.

Their "research" dept consists of searching for information on the internet and calling you if you are a company between 3 - 5 million in revenue and are their key target for doing business.

Television Producers are really TELEMARKETERS!!!

AUTHOR: Gary - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 03, 2003

I agree with the e-mailer above. These Platinum people and other South Florida production businesses keep calling up saying we were 'selected' to be on their program...for a small fee, of course.

These calls are solicitations and should be regarded as telemarketers, not non-profits seeking contributions, nor are they financial investment opportunities - they are salespeople!!!

I just let them read their scripts, keep them on hold, let them promise me something... and eventually they go away for awhile as they realize you aren't sending them money. It's one of those sales fronts and closers wrapping things up by us businesses sending them a check.

Why would they want to put my golf company on women's entertainment television and Pax television anyway? Please!

If you internet surfers are reading this, or if you are a business looking for background info, DONT SEND THEM MONEY!!! Their programs don't even air!!!
