We contacted this business for more information regarding their credit processing. Upon going to the website and emailing (to which they did not respond) we used their chat system. We were connected to a representative named Daniel. We asked several questions regarding volume ability for business and restriction on business types. Mr. Daniel's response was we do not do a one size fits all on our customers like Square it depends on volume of the business and the sales however there is no restrictions. He then told us for more information we would have to submit our last 3 months of credit processing. I told the representative that being a corporation that grosses well over 250k a year we are not willing to divulge our exact numbers and statements without some sort of idea of the parameters in which Plus By EMS was thinking. We told them the amount in which we sold per month and our average sales price. Upon not being willing to divulge corporate information they said and I quote and have screenshotted, we do have restrictions on business types and that we suggest you try our competitors.

The fact that this business will not give numbers based on the average without seeing our corporate information and they lie about having restrictions and even more so tell people to use their competitors really makes me question what kind of business this is.

I would very much be skeptical and weary of this company!

Something fishy or maybe just a horrible representative I dealt with.

Being a fairly large corporation and to be blown off by this company makes me wonder how they treat small businesses.

Thank you for taking the time and your apologies.

It is not the fact you want you wanted to verify information which we would have gladly supplied including FEIN, Banking Statements, etc. it was the fact that your representative wasn't willing to divulge more information about parameters without knowing our specific numbers.

As a corporation I would never give financial information to a company that is not willing to give us a quote for their services and whether or not the service type was accepted by your company. I would understand asking for a Federal Employee Identification Number or even a Social Security number but to ask for banking statements is fishy. This isn't a loan process and once again we are taking about before giving us final rates and fees not to actually use the service.

To say that you have to verify using banking statements for fraudsters when your biggest competitors and major corporations such as PayPal, Square, Simplify Commerce, etc. are transparent when it comes to their fees / rates, volumes, service types they accept, and never need banking statements for verification was frustrating and still doesn't make sense to me. The fact that your service is not a one size fits all also makes me very skeptical of your company.

I am sorry you feel that this complaint is unwarranted however when a company such as yourself tells me that I need to pursue competitors and be dismissed by an employee as a mid-size corporation really makes me wonder about your business ethics towards small businesses thus my disclaimer and word of warning to other consumers that are looking into your company.

Based off of other reviews I am glad I pursued other means instead of Plus BY EMS.

I appreciate your response and wish you the best in your endeavors as a credit card processing company but the representative I dealt with and still to this day never have receive a response to the email I sent requesting information put a bad taste in my mouth towards your company.

As stated above maybe there is nothing nefarious / fishy going on it could have just been a horrible interaction with one of your representatives but I feel our comments and statements are valid.

Sincerely,

Apologies for Your Frustration

AUTHOR: Merrell - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 03, 2015

I apologize for your frustrations with our signup process and the level of service provided by one of our customer service representatives. Judging by your comments, and the attachment you included, it appears that you never became a customer because you had problems getting through our signup process.

Admittedly, the signup process does cause some applicants frustration since we must assure that we can determine that an online applicant is who they say they are. We turn plastic cards into cash so we are often times targeted by fraudsters.  That said, we use a well-known identity verification service used by banks nationwide.

We never charged you anything ... in fact if you had gotten through the indentity verification process we would have sent you a free credit card reader.  We do apologize for the time you spent unsuccessfully applying.

Since there was no financial loss ... just a statement that we can not do business with you ... I think a post on the RipOff report is unfair action to take.
