Like others, I received an unsolicited email from Robert G. Allen informing me that I had been selected to be part of a group of people he would help learn how to do well in real estate investing. I am interested in this area but have not done anything about it so the message interested me. I was also at a bad time in my current job and the idea of getting free was particularly inviting at the time.

I should have been tipped off by the clock ticking in the email counting down from 60 minutes telling me how much time I had left to make a decision and then the offer would regretably have to be withdrawn and given to someone else. I should have seen through that but I went ahead and bought the two "e books" and seven "special reports" for $39.95. I figured that wasn't a lot of money to see if this really had anything to offer.

Then, within a few days, I got a phone call from someone saying they were with Robert Allen's office and that they wanted to interview me as part of the selection process for the few people Robert Allen was going to mentor through the process of gaining wealth as he had done previously.

The materials I got (downloaded) for my money weren't too bad. They were enough to convince me it is possible to do well in this business if you know what you're doing. However, the material also sets you up with several stories of how Robert Allen has written several books on the principles of getting rich and each time has accepted a challenge from LA Times to prove his concepts work.

So, when you get the call saying you are being interviewed to be one of the people he mentors for his next "challenge" you really feel excited.

In the "interview" process you start with one person who says he is the screener and needs to build a profile of your attributes to pass on to his director for the final interview. In this process he will work with you to determine your level of desire and motivation and, most importantly, your financial ability to "invest in your business".

After I had told him the credit balance on both my credit cards and how much remaining credit I had the lights finally began to come on. Okay, so I'm slow! I finally had enough sense to ask if this "mentoring" would be with Robert Allen himself. When I was told it would be with one of his "personally trained staff" I was starting to understand all this and asked, "Is this mentoring service something I will be expected to pay for?"

That's when the truth hit. Yes. It is a service you pay for. How much will it cost? A nebulous answer of "anywhere from $5,000 to $32,000" depending on your level of commitment to your future. That was the end of the interview.

Since this experience (just five days ago) I've found Johnt T. Reed's web site as well as this one giving some good information about Robert Allen and people like him. I still believe it is possible to succeed in real estate investing but I believe these people have discovered a quicker way to riches which is to strip the gullable. They prey on those that are down and want to get up by promising to help them get rich.

There are few things I feel you can do that are more unethical than to hurt the hurting and prey on the weak. My thanks to this web site and the others that are providing a way for people to learn the other side of the story from these scam artists and hopefully protect ourselves. God bless.

Take Time to Smell the Scam

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 01, 2006

Yes, I too almost fell this very convincing group of sharks pretending to work directly for RGA. However, I did ask the question of when I would be able to speak directly with RGA and was told that this was a very good question! This is about the time the red flags starting going up. If RGA is so interested in helping me as an individual acheive great success, then why is he not available to speak to me especially if I about to hand him $5,000.00 - $20,000.00? I still have not gotten a straight answer on why I could not speak with RGA. Anyway, moving on I then received and heard multiple sales pitches from many different so called experts trying to convince me they could take me wherever I wanted to go financially so long as I was totally committed. At this point I decided to take a break and just let all this wonderful, caring and loving information soak in. This is when things really got interesting! Remember the mention of Sharks above? Yes, I had been scheduled for a closing sales pitch in the days to come and I decided not to take this phone call just to see what would happen. My phone(s) (yes, I had given them two phone numbers) were literally ringing off the hook! This went on for a couple of days! To the point of almost being harrassed or maybe it was harassment, I don't know. Anyway, in my opinion this only proved to me that they were desperate to line me up for the kill. Yes, I could actually feel the sharks circling as if it was a game or a bet that someone there could close in on me for the Kill!

Maybe I'm wrong but it sure didn't feel that way.

All the above was said to actually say this, If it sounds to good to be true, it is just that! Always and forever trust your sixth sense! It will never ever let you down. Above all, always slow down, take a deep breath, take a break and take time to smell the scam!

Finally, if the advice in the afore mentioned paragraph doesn't work for you, try this. Take the time to do the research on a company. Gather all the facts that you can good or bad. Ask yourself this, would these same people spend their money with me if I could not prove that I was legitimate? Heck no they wouldn't! So do not give your money to anyone without arming yourself with all the facts. Remember the following statement for the rest of your life as it will serve you well for the rest of your life.

" The knowledge of the truth in all matters big or small is the most potent and powerful weapon on the face of this earth!"

Utilize the above statement and you will never be taken in by the would be scammers ever again.

Real Estate Coaching Program Rip-Off

AUTHOR: George - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 07, 2006

I paid Robert Allen's company $6,000 for a real estate coaching program. I was to receive a set of training materials and one-on-one coaching from a real estate guru. The description of how I was worked, the sales process, is pretty much as described above. In my case, they added a twist. They guaranteed me that I would more than make back my $6,000 investment within 30 days of payment, so my credit card charge could be paid off when it came in the mail. The fellow (Brett)who was on the phone assured me that he would make sure it happened.

I received the training materials after about 3 weeks (I had to call and leave a couple of messages that I had not received my materials) and began studying them. The training materials were of poor quality and consisted mainly of reprints of RGA ebooks, which I already paid for in the past. The above mentioned $39.95 deal. I also received a set of audio tapes that were of such poor quality I could only make out half of what was said. No matter, as most of it was pretty useless information, just war stories of Bob's triumphs over some poor unsuspecting seller in a distressed situation

I called the mentor's phone number and got put into a queue where I could only talk with him for 20 minutes on specific times and days. He kept telling me to find deals in my local market, N. Cal., that simply did not exist. I told him as much and he said he would get back to me with a new plan.

The bill arrived from the credit card company and I had to start making payments. I called the number I had for the main office and tried to get the fellow who made all the promises about getting my money made back. All I could get was a voice-mail system and never received a return call. I finally did make contact with my so-called mentor and he said he had nothing to do with any guarantees from the company. He stated he was simply a contractor and got paid by the client. I never heard from him again and the next time I tried to call him, the number was disconnected.

So the bottom line is for $6000 I ended up with some poor quality tape recordings of real estate hype sessions, some xeroxed materials out of a book and a Team Guide for a non-existent team.

I think this program qualifies as a scam.

Legal Issues Versus Moral, Ethical Issues

AUTHOR: Jerry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 13, 2006

There are legal issues in business and there are moral, ethical issues that are more life than business. The business part is what Rip-Off Reports deal with and provides a forum for both sides. The moral part is what God deals with and that's where one is allowed the opportunity to pile up an ever lasting fuel source to feed the fire.

We can all recall instances of injustice that were never resolved due to lack of evidence, un-admissable evidence, or mis-applied procedures. Our system is a Legal System, not a Justice System! There is what can be proven is court of law, and there is what you know from common horse sense.

Many slick toungued dudes in silk suits can rip off people legally like Robert Allen. He uses lies, deceit, half truths and suppositions. There are many like him out there preying on the hopes and dreams of well meaning, ignorant people most of whom are the least able to afford the cost of going to the school of hard knocks. Then there are the "Saducees and Pharisees" that hide behind the "legal" letters without regard to the spirit of marlistic duty to ethical standards. The above "legal" dissertation is one in point. He probably insists that O.J. was innocent too, but we all know that he was just found "not guilty". There is a huge difference between "innocent" and "not guilty".

Robert Allen's scam is guilty of ripping off people through preying on our desire to succeed in the search for a better life. He hires PMG to fullfil the legal training requirements, so they are just hired puppets, he sells the credit collections to another company that insulates himself from that hassle and establishes your legal obligation to that company instead of him because he knows you would stop payment to him. So, in effect, he is an empty suit, no moral fiber, no body of standing, simply a focal point, just a talking head programmed to say anything to "close the sale"

If it sounds to good to be true, it is. If it sounds unbelievable, it is. When you ask them to, "show me the money", they can't. Have you ever wondered why anyone would sell you their "secret" of how to make money? They won't, because their secret is that they don't want you to know their business is selling the idea that there is a secret!

Business is the activity of buying and selling goods or services for a profit. Anything else is a scam.

In response to linda's questions

AUTHOR: Reid - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 27, 2004

Howdy folks, I was just skimming through the reports and happened to stumble across this report. I just wanted to answer Linda's question about what is illegal about selling moneymaking programs, especially over the phone. First of all, there is nothing wrong with selling moneymaking programs.

However, if someone or a company resorts to making false claims and misleads the public to beleive they are selling a product or service they're really not, it is very illegal. This individual and or company would have engaged in deceptive trade, which makes any business fraudulent.

I am currently in a credit card dispute battle with the fraudulent third party marketing company responsible for selling me on their so called "mentoring". John Beck is the "supposed" guru. What everyone who watches late night television should realize is that 95% of the entire world's population works for the other 5%. The remaining 5% are your doctors, lawyers, certified public accountants, traditional business owners, celebrities, professional athletes, etc, etc, which leaves very little room for so called "mentors" to assist complete strangers in achieving the same financial wealth. I must go for now, but thank you very much for taking the time to read my posting. Until next time, Take Care Cause I care, Aloha from Hawaii, and God Bless.

P.S. Don't forget to read my report on John Beck when you have time. Go back to the home page and type in John Beck in the search box.

would allow a stranger to charge $10,000.00 to your credit card

AUTHOR: Linda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 17, 2003

I too was contacted by this company (Robert G. Allen) after responding to an online ad and my experience was the same. You are contacted via telephone by a screener and then handed off to a supervisor who wants to charge $10,000.00 to your credit card without providing any legitimate proof of who they are, where they are located, no legal formal documents, no company books to review, profit loss statements, or any other proof that they are who they say they are or that you can make any real money etc., etc., - the name of the company shows up on caller id as Innovative Software but when you call the number back an answering machine picks up and there is no reference to a company name just instructions to dial an extension of either of the persons who originally contacted you.

And yes I read the investigators report stating that there are no formal charges or legal actions against this company or proof for that matter that Robert G. Allen is not a legitimate business. And maybe that is true from the perspective that if people are freely willing to give their money to unknown people based on a telephone call what's illegal about that??

But in all reality we know that if this was a legitimate honest business - there would be no pressure to immediately provide a credit card number - they would have nothing to hide and would be more than happy to allow you to spend time to research the business and review what they have to offer. They would want to show proof that they are truly who they say they are - maybe a face to face meeting would be nice.

Point is if you were looking to buy a business you conduct the research to understand whether it was a viable business or not. You would ask the company to review its books - assets, liabilities, customers, etc., etc., You would want to know what you are buying and not based on some stranger's testimony or high pressure sales tactics.

Who knows a few people might be lucky enough to get rich off these quick get rich schemes - personally I don't know any.

If you would allow a stranger to charge $10,000.00 to your credit card - why not find your own below market value property charge the $10,000.00 down payment yourself - fix it up and turn it for a profit?? Why do you need someone else to do it for you??

Fair and balanced Facts

AUTHOR: Bill - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, August 07, 2003

Let's take alook at facts I have checked out for a past client:

PMG is a company that has been hired by RGA and Hansson to provide mentoring for both groups. I have yet seen any evidence that this company is being dishonest.

If you check the BBB under you find Energy Professional Marketing Group in Utah it states:

"..Any complaints processed by the Bureau in its three-year reporting period have been resolved. The number and type of complaints are not unusual for a company in this industry.." so they do not have a bad record at all. In fact I called the Utah Division of Consumer Protection at 801-530-6601. An agent Gonzaez told me that they have had one complaint aginst EPMG( Energy Professional Marketing Group)and it was resovled."

I directly contacted the F.C.C
The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive and unfair business practices. I was told that they do not have any indications or evidence that PMG has ever been involved in a scam or are being invstagated.

They advised me to check with the bbb and other local gov groups. I reconfirmed that there are no outstanding problems with epmg. I took it one step further and did comprehensive public record information search.I used the the same program I used to do backgrounds on compainies for my clients

I did the following:

-Checked The Financial Stability Of epmg Covering all bankruptcy districts in the United States, as well as Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, this search is an excellent scan of financial history.

_Checked Litigious Behavior of PMG. I checked litigious behavior in the backgrounds of potential partners, vendors, and clients by searching for lawsuit filings.

I found nothing negitive that came back exceopt a few complaints that have been resovled.

All I ask is that one checks the facts and then -Be True to Recognized Facts, Transform Facts into Evidence, Check Your Facts

Thanks,

Don't get involved in these companies, they just want your money

AUTHOR: Rick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 06, 2003

I just love checking this website for information about companies here in Utah that sell the dream. I worked for a couple of them and I am glad am out. Sometime I promised I would post the scripts used by the setter and the closer The setter is the guy that calls you first and tells you about the success team, his job is to bracket you to see how much money they can get out of your credit cards. The closer is the senior director or other clever names and he is the one that gets you the credit card info and pass you to registration where your card is charged. Next thing is, Congratulations !!!! Welcome to the Success Team ! Where you can earn the money that you want in matter of months (with the helping hand of your mentors) . The mentors are guys that are paid by appointment or by the hour and are not experts as claimed. They are just guys that follow a program. The setter and the closer split commissions on the sale and the more you sell you get a larger percentage of it. This is the incentive for them: Money. Your money. Of course the team leaders and the floor manager get overrides along with the owners of the company and the lead source (Whenever you buy certain materials to make money whether informercials or other a lead is generated and this lead is sold to companies like PMG who then turn around and upsell you). Look at the wording of the scripts and see how they make talk about your dream and pay attention how elicit the credit card information (OPM =Other peoples money)can go effortlessly (this is the most intimidating part for a setter). And the close where is where the setter struck gold and passes the lead to the closer to finish off. (Closers always first thing they ask is how much money does he/she have ). Have fun and invest your money wisely. (there is variations to this script but it is pretty much the same)(Honestly I miss the commision checks but I got burned out):

Intro Blast
Hi this is calling from the office of . How are you doing today? Good! I understand that you got involved in the . Let me tell you why we are calling. I am calling regarding the success teams, you may or may not have been contacted about them. We categorize potential clients into 2 areas. This will tell us if this is for you or not. A lot of people get involved in these businesses as more of a hobby. They're happy with an extra $500 to $1000 a month. Then, there are those who are more serious. They would like to work the business part time now, then build their business to the point where they can transition out of their current occupations, in the next 6 months to a year. Which category do you fall into? Hobby or Serious

! I am not an expert in the business; my job is simply to find people that I feel are qualified for the program. If I feel good about you, I will turn you over to one of my senior business consultants who will detail the program for you, OK?

What I am going to do , is ask you a few questions to find out where your business is financially right now and compare it to where you would like to be and that will help me make some recommendations for you regarding the success team.

IV. Setup/Investment
There are four qualities that you must have before I can recommend you for the program.

1. When you are working with mentors, there will be an investment involved. We are not talking about you using cash out of your own pocket. We want to teach you the concept of using OPM (other people's money) to build your business. We want to show you how to utilize your credit card as a leverage to make money. .1 am not asking you to make a decision right now because we have not given you all the information to make a good decision. But I do want to get an idea of where you see yourself investing to get your business going. Some of our clients invest 15 to $20,000.00 others 10 to $15,000.00, but most of our clients because of the cost of living, inflation, and other factors are only investing 5 to $10,000.00 to get started. Where would you see yourself investing today to get your business started? So (name) If the director can show you how to use your credit card as an investment tool, are you open to use this strategy to start making money today.
2. We must have a minimum time commitment of 8 to 10 hours each week. Can you do that? Y N
3. We are looking for someone who is open-minded and teachable so we can have a long-term, mutually beneficial
relationship. Are you coach able and willing to learn from the experts? Y N
V. Decision Maker
4. We are looking for a decision-maker. There are two kinds of people buy our program.
those who keep talking about making money and reaching their financial goals, we call them procrastinators, and then there are those who are tires of living paycheck to paycheck, they have a clear understanding of their goals and are willing to make the necessary decisions and changes in order to get the business up and running. Are you in a decision-making mode as far as the business is concerned? Y N Can you make a decision today? Y N
I'm going to put you on hold for a minute to see if I can get one of our experts to speak with you. While I do that, will you grab a piece of paper and a pencil?
Hello ? First let me have you write down this gentleman's name. It is Mr. . You are lucky to speak
with Mr. ; he is an expert in the and businesses, but most importantly his role is to build the success team that we have been talking about. He wants to have the best people in the program. It has got to be a win for you, right? But it also has to be a win for our company. So don't be offended if he does not invite you aboard the
team. Mr. said that he would be happy to call you back in 5 to 10 mins. He is just finishing up a phone call. So I would like to have you do a few things before you talk with him.
1. Write down a 6-month financial goal and a 1-year financial goal.

2. Write down 3 things that you want more besides money.

3. Write down 3 weak areas you feel you have regarding the business. We want this program to be specific for your needs.

4. He will want to know if you are willing to make the necessary changes today to get the business going. Do me a favor_; let Mr. know up front how serious and motivated you are to build the business, ok! Great I'll have him call you back as soon as he is off the phone.
Do not turn this set-up over to the closer unless the following have been covered in depth.
I. Time 11. Money III. Motivation IV. Investment V. Decision Maker (s) today

I WILL POST THE CLOSE SCRIPT LATER ON FOR THE TIME BEING THERE YOU HAVE IT.

Bo,

In reviewing your statements addressed to PMG or Robert G Allen, we would like to respond fairly and honestly to all concerns posted.

We do mentor and train in Real Estate investing to help people who are not only intrested like yourself, but people who are just looking for more in life. However, we know we can't work with everyone, and not everyone wants to work with us. So as an inital screening we only allow the 60 min to find individuals who will have some of the qualities we're looking for, from the beginning. If someone can't make up their mind within that time, and don't purchase the ebooks then we don't get their info and we don't call. We're sorry if that made you nervous, but we're separating those who are at the point where they are looking for expert help.

To assist you as well, after the ebooks were purchased we offer a 90 day Money Back Guarantee. If you wish to receive a refund on those ebooks you can email support@esioffers.com or call 866-748-3566, ext 3466. They can help you with that.

Also, when it comes to your conversation with the representative on the phone we again are looking for people who will be able to invest in themselves and their business, but who will be able to build their business in an aggressive manner. We're sorry for any misconception you may have felt during the discussion you had with the representative, and if we knew who that person was we could ensure that future clients did not feel that way in the future.

Bo, if you would like we could send 2 hard back books complimentary, for bringing this to our attention, as well as resolving this issue.
Please feel free to call Devin at 800-748-5199 ext 3420, and we'll help.

Regards,

PMG/RGA
