Acura is a name that always stood for quality in my mind. I bought a TL S type from pohanka several years ago. It's been a great car other than the transmission problem that the 03's . It's on it's 4th or 5th transmission. I've lost track. Pohanka has been pretty good about fixing this in the past. Now that they just had to do it again a few weeks ago, the story has changed. It was misdiagnosed as dirty fluid. That was about $100 that they keep saying they will refund, but never have after 4 weeks.

Once they finally agreed it was time to replace the trans, they seemd disappointed since it was under warranty. If I paid for the repair, they would warranty for 36k miles, but since it's warranty they will only give 12k or 10months. I'm shocked that they don't stand behind an obvious design flaw. It's well known.

Now is where things really get ugly. Pohanka wrecked my TL while parking it behind their dealership. Apparently they didn't finish bolting in the new transmission. It somehow dropped off and busted the tie rod and other components. They tried to cover it up. A quick call from the service mgr said they would just do the "minor" repair and I could keep the loaner. When I showed up the car has had the front quarter panel replaced, rocker panel, and painted in addition to the tie rod end. What exactly did they do to the car? And what was minor about it?

It would be great to know, but they won't give me any documentation of what they replaced. They won't even refund $ paid a week earlier when they said the trans just had dirty fluid. The admitted it was a bad diagnosis. Since then I've had many conversations and visits to the dealer. The interior panel of my driver door fell off so it had to go back in for more service. The rocker was also reinstalled crooked. I'm still not sure why the interior was taken off the door to repair a tie rod end. The overall manager of the dealer won't even return calls on these issues. He leaves it for his assistant Ava to call me back.

I even tried to make a deal on trading in this car since I'm not sure what was done to it. The manager didn't even bother to take his coat off. Apparently he was ready to leave at 5:30. He simply took a stab at the value of the trade in and a guess at the best price he could do on an MDX. They had the car for 2 days and knew I wanted numbers. Guess they really don't want to sell any cars or do good service. What a huge turnaround. I thought of them as one of the best, now I know them as one of the worst!

I highly advise anyone to avoid the dealership. They seem to be headed down the path of poor service and dishonesty.
