I LIVE IN A LITTLE SMALL COUNTY ON THE EAST COAST IN VIRGINIA! LITERLY SMALL TOWN USA! AND MAGAZINE SALES FRAUD FROM TEXAS HAS HIT ME HERE. RIGHT HERE WHERE I LIVE!

WELL, WELL, WELL, I HAVE BEEN HAD!

Just like every one else on this site I was had also. I have called and called with no sucess in speaking with a real live person!

This company hires young adults or high school students too go door to door selling magazines. They give you this great speech and you want to help these young adults/students.

What an evil thing to do. using young people to represent you to do your dirty work door to door! Do these young adults/students recieve the rewards they were promised as salespersons?

WOW what an example they are setting when they rip off people by using young people to do it?

And to use the whole across America scam? To rip off your fellow American! They should be ashamed of themselves! With all these customers who are complaining shouldn't somebody step in to see who else were victom's of this scam and just don't know where to go to file a complaint?

My order was placed 0n 10/20/2006. that was nearly 5 months ago. A lot of people will have lost or thrown out the little order slip long before they if ever rembmer they placed an order. The only reason I didn't forget is because the character and out going style of the young man who sold me the magazine which I purchased as a gift for my daughter for a Christmas present. The young man was so excited that he had made the sale. he just went on and on and then he made a little hand-made sign to place on my door that had little bug's flying around and siad "BUG OFF" because Ryan has already been here and is in the lead! The sign was so cute that it remained on my door for quite a while and was a conversation piece for my family and friends! But what about all the other people who forgot! I am going to contact my local newspaper to tell them what has happened and what I have found out on-line!

I WANT MY MONEY BACK! ALL OF IT $54.00 FOR 1 SUBSCRIPTION FOR 3 YEARS TO COSMO GIRL!

Buyer Beware

AUTHOR: Gene - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 22, 2007

I would ask Melissa if she received her GED yet because I am on the floor laughing my rear off at your poorly worded rebuttal. If you are going to utilize your spin doctoring techniques properly, then I suggest watching MSNBC or Fox News and see how the pros like Scarborough or O'Reilly do it. They are much more eloquent that you!

Now onto my main point....

These businesses need to be stopped in the name of child welfare and homeowner safety. There are countless number of reported cases where several of these door to door hucksters commit crimes against homeowners and their own agents. From burglary to sexual assault, the cases are increasing more and more. My suggestion to you would be if any of these hucksters come to your door, do the reverse sales technique on them by asking them how they sleep at night lying to people, questions about integrity, etc. and see if they break down and fess up about their true intentions. If so, there may be some hard evidence that these hucksters may have a conscience.

Once they break down and come clean, give them the number to Parent Watch or call the police and see to it that they get home safely without any acts of violence inflicted upon them. I had a case a week ago where one of these kids broke down and cried about ripping off people after I gave him a pretty hard interrogation about his motives. Long story short, he had been away from home about 3 months and was scared out of his wits about this crew. He had spoken to his mom once during that 3 month period.

You will be doing these kids a greater service if you get them to fess up about their true intentions and bring them back to their rightful homes. If you give them money, you will only make their troubles worse and enable that sort of behavior.

As far as Melissa goes...I hope you sleep well at night knowing how you rip people off and contribute to the exploitation of your fellow human with the business that you are in. Maybe we will see you on an episode of "Intervention" or on a evening news segment with you in handcuffs. Because, after all, that is where you are headed. As someone once said, "Karma is a b----!"

I would just like to thank Ashleigh. For your response and support of my issue. Melissa, I would really like for you to provide me with the proper method of contact to the company.....since you seem to be an expert on their policies and procedures. If you could explain to me what is the proper way to address this issue, maybe I could resolve this matter.

I truly thought this was a site that everyone could come to in order to report a scam. And I never ever thought that someone would take this so personal...certainly not anyone that didn't own the company or wasn't benefiting from the scammers themselves. And I am sorry if there are people out there who feel as though my issue is of no significance but, my money is as valuable to me as your money is to you.

So with that being said please keep in mind that this is not intended as a direct attack on anyone expect the company that I wrote the check to. These are the people who took my money and provided me with nothing in return. And I am still very concerned about the young adults that this company uses to do there sales. I probably have more concerns now than I did before I filed my complaint.....since I got to get to know a little more about the people involved!

Once again THANK YOU, Ashleigh!

Have a great day and God Bless!

#2 Consumer Comment

Avoid this company!

First off, I would ignore everything this ?Melissa? is telling you and just consider this a very expensive mistake. You can call or write to Cosmo Girl, but they won't be able to do anything.

You paid a third party and there's no guarantee that Cosmo Girl ever saw any of your money. They're not going to give you something for free, nor will they fight this battle for you, which leaves you trying (impossibly) to get your money back through the company. In addition, you got ripped off by handing over $54 of your hard-earned cash (according to Cosmo Girl's website, 20 issues, or 2 years of subscription, costs $14). Your pest bet would be to consider this a very expensive mistake and, in addition to not buying from them again, encouraging others not to buy from them either.

I ordered through them once, and can sympathize with all your points. I got hit up in the grocery store parking lot by a guy about my age. He had a pathetic sob story, and I felt sorry for him, so I gave him some cash for a magazine subscription (it took almost a year for them to come, and I paid $40 for a subscription that should have cost me about half that). After hearing stories about this company, I almost wish the kid would have just taken the money for himself and went home to his parents.

Melissa darling, one day you'll realize what a scam these people are really running and that you'll be better off going to college and getting a good job (even if you have to work fast food to put yourself through college, it will be well worth it). A company that scams hard-working people out of money they worked for (yes? charging twice what a subscription would normally cost them is a SCAM) is a company that lacks ethics and that exploited you. Also, there is no law that the companies are required to only produce 64% of the stubs. I will, however, admit that I am confused as to which company you are talking about? if you're talking about the company that employed you, they are guilty of fraud if they act as a 3rd party broker but only process ?64% of the subscriptions? (which is a very arbitrary number) that are sent in. If you are referring to the magazine companies, they are required to send a subscription to everyone who pays for a subscription. Not 64%... everyone.

P.S. It's ?sense? not ?sence?, ?companies? not ?company's?, ?themselves? not ?them selfs?, not to mention other obvious grammatical errors littering your rebuttal. I highly recommend an English course so that you will be able to be taken more seriously in the future.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

I swear some people have no sence

AUTHOR: Melissa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 11, 2007

Like, ok did you know that the magazine company's them selfs not the kids coming to your door or the people processing your order. But the company's them self are required by law to only produce 64% of the subscriptions sent in. So when you really think about it you hear about maybe one or two people every week or every other week saying Hey I got scammed. But do you know how many kids are out there selling these? Like 20 kids selling 15 to 20 people magazine subscriptions a day. Do the math.

Iv watched this site for over a year. Now true some people are right in saying they got scammed by the person who came to the door. But you should still get your subscription I know from personal experience how good of a company 333 is I traveled with them. Also I have bought magazines through them for me and ALL my family. Everyone got the subs. for everything I ordered. But it takes a while right on the slip it says 30-160 days sooo if you dont get it after that time then mayhap you should be consider. And then what you should DO is contact the company from which magazine you subscribed to let them know that you went through a 3rd party to get your subscriptions they never came, and send them the receipt.

And as far as those people being evil or w/e you said. Thats so far off!! Those people teach you things like how be be good with business and how to maintain a winning attitude. Plus so much more. And if you think thats bad or evil then mayhap you need to reevaluate.
Love Always Melissa L.
