Portfolio Recovery Associates Debt Collection Company ... (scammers) Norfolk Virginia

A call came into my parents phone line. It was an unprofessional recording type call 'asking' to return the call to 800-860-0644. The recording also stated it was in regards to debt collection and any information given would be used for that purpose.

My parents definitely don't owe any debt. For quite some time, now, unless I approve otherwise, NO ONE is to be calling 'me' at my parents number. I immediately went to Google (well, the Chrome browser) and searched the number. Hmmm... Rip Off Report! And with a number of negative posts on this company already!

I called the number back to inform them to remove the number from their 'list.' During the call I made it a point to NOT tell them it really was me (the person they wanted) on the phone with them.

The representative that answered my call was QUITE rude, inconsiderate and disrespectful. She seemed to think it was acceptable to interrupt me. So I interrupted back! I even told her that if she continues to give an attitude that I'd begin giving her an attitude right back ... more so than I had begun already AFTER her doing so.

After all her uncalled for interruptions instead of waiting and allowing for response in full she said "I need to get to my next call." ... that's when I said "Then I need your supervisor!"

Her supervisor wasn't any better! He started with me as well and I told him "If YOU continue with your attitude then I'm going to have to speak with YOUR supervisor!" He then claimed there was no one above him (yeah, right). He ended up rudely, inconsiderately, disrespectfully and unprogessionally hanging up on me.

That's when I called back! Of course again I get a 'please hold for next rep' type of auto-answer. I decided, this time, to just 'press 1 to leave a message' and inform them that after both a rep and a supervisor both being rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful and unprofessional, that they are to remove my parents number from their list.
