PORTFOLIO RECOVERY SERVICES PUT NEGATIVE ITEMS ON MY CREDIT WITHOUT CONTACTING ME FIRST WHITE PIGEON Michigan

i used a debt consolidation company to help payoff credit card debt. They negoated with two companies. This was in 2002 and 2003. I just applied for a mortgage and found portfolio has put those accounts in collection. No one contacted me about this prior to this so I could check to see if the debt consolidation place paid them or not. And because I filed a bankrupsty in 2004 I could have put those in it if I had known.

Both the credit card companies say the bills are paid for and the have no knowledge of the accounts. Portfolio said they sold them to other companies but the other companies said they closed the accounts and sent them back to portfolio. But no one wants to clean up the mess on my credit report. And I need to refinace my house before it gets in foreclosure. And I am at a stand still
because of this.
