On September 29th, 2008 I decided to purchase 5 posters for $5 a piece at PosterPass.com

At first it seemed like a decent offer until I was charged $39.80 the day after my initial purchase. I didn't know about this $39 charge until I logged into my bank account days later. By that time they had already charged me $39.80 again on 2 other occasions. I visited their site & it said customers are signed up to a subscription service that charges monthly. I NEVER remember seeing any fine print stating I would be listed in a subscription. I'm almost certain they didn't provide details about the subscription service on my initial purchase. To add insult to injury these fraudulent charges aren't even monthly either. They've managed to charge my debit card 4 times in about a week (total $159.20).

On October 7th, I called their 800 number demanding they cancel me, stop sending posters, and to refund my money back. They promised that I would no longer be charged and that my membership was canceled. I also got an email from them saying it was canceled as well.

When I was talking to them on the phone they said I had more posters en route to my home. They claimed that whenever the mail carrier arrives that I should refuse the packages and that USPS would send them back. Once the packages arrive back they said I would receive a full refund.

Afterwards, I thought everything was straightened out. However, the very next day I received yet another charge for $39.80. Out of curiosity I visited a number of consumer advocate websites and apparently I'm one of many victims. One individual said the scam site charged him hundreds of dollars. I immediately called my bank to get my debit card deactivated. I'm now in the process of visiting my bank to see about getting those charges reversed.
