It was a cold winter day in the city and i had just made payments on some bills,my car was in need of repair and I was in need of more money,I need to hit the lottery!I went to the mail box and the postman had just left the mail.More bills, junkmail and whats this, a letter no return address and post marked from Canada?so proceeded to open it and inside was the answer to my prayers so i thought,it was a check for $4890.00.

FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND NINTY AND 00 CENT*****!!!!!!WOW OH MY GOD my prays have been answered.
Along with the check was a letter from the POWERHOUSE FINANCIAL INC.

International Claim Department,101 King St Morriston Ont.N0B2C3 905-783-1800.

The letter stated that we are please to inform you that you are one of the declared winners of the NORTH MEGA SWEEPSTAKE,We have made unsuccessful attemps to contact you regarding this winning.So I looked at the check and boy, it appeared to be official.

I mean it looked really good ,even had the security marking and the whole nine yards.

I turn to my wife and said what do you think,"Scam",we both reply.

So I picked up the telphone and started to dial the number on the letter ,which by the way said i was to call within 5 business days and ask to speak with a woman by the name of Linda Brown,But it was singed David Lee (Promotion Manager)I was to give Linda My Prize comformation number and to get the information on how to collect the rest of my total prize amount of $250,000,but first I was to pay the tax amount of $2985.00 on the prize, via Western Union Or MoneyGram.Just as i pressed the last number on the phone I hung up and went to the computer and Googled the companies name nothing came up then I tried the address,"BOOYA"! the address came up with the same scam but a different company name ,Anne had posted the same scam but the company was the WATERHOUSE FINANCIAL insted.So thank you Anne for posting your story MAYBE OTHERS WILL REALIZE THAT SCAMS CAN STRIKE TWICE AT THE SAME ADDRESS.
