Upon making the decsion to hire a practice consultant, I responded to a mailing from Tom Bowen at practice coach. As they call themselves the world wide leader in veterinary practice consulting I requested a informational CD. As Tom Bowen is a very polished and motivational speaker I called to get more information. An appointment was set and I discussed my practice concerns with Mr. Bowen. As staff issues were the main problem we discussed those in detail and he assured me their program was for me. Further more he made me aware that they offered a money back gaurentee which knowone in practice coach's history had ever requested. What did I have to loose except travel expenses? Mutiple questionaires were filled out by my staff and I so prctice caoch could get a complete picture of my practice.BOFA handled the financing of the $17,900 to pay practice coach. I then paid for myself and my receptionist to travel to Lincoln, NE for 3 days of training. Right away I did not think their program could help with the problems my practice had. I discussed this with Tom Bowen, Jason Peck and Katie Ulrich.Tom after the first day said to hang in their and attend the next days seminars and I would feel differently and less overwhelmed. Upon completion of the second day and being told Jason Peck, a un-motivational speaker, that the problems I was having could not be addressed by what had been discussed over those first two days. Both Tom and Jason said it can be overwhelming at first so when you go home, try to institute the programs discussed and if you still don't think our program can help you you can take advantage of the " golden Parachute". This is their 100% money back gaurentee. Upon my return and diligently trying to institute their programs I called and talked to Tom Bowen. I again said thier program was not for me and requested to invoke the gaurantee and get my money back. Tom said, before we do that lest us try to have Jason act as a COO and work with the staff himself. After a month of Jason doing next to nothing and missing conference calls with my staff I called Tom Bowen whom now would not return and of my calls or emails. Upon calling the corporate office I requested a conversation with one of the principals. Mr williams is that person, the co-founder of Practice Coach and founder of the Williams group. After a lengthy conversation regarding my situation he asked for a couple of days to talk to Tom and Jason and he would get back to me. No objection to my refund request at that time. Upon calling me back he said the time to request the refund had passed and I was not eligable for it. His reason was that it had to be reuested immediately after the second day of seminars. Again, I reminded him that I had requesteda refundbut was told, by Tom and Jason, that I still could get a refund after going home and finding their programs to be of nohelp. Two further conversations were had with Mr. Williams. On the second I asked if anyone had ever requested a refund and he said yes their had been others. Tom Bowen had then told a bold faced lie to get me to sign up earlier when he said that know one had ever requested a refund from Pracitce Coach. To top it all off I was told by Jason Peck that the problems I was having were problems Practice Coach could not help with. Why then after reading the staff questionares and my opinion of what my practices problems were did they not say, we cannnot help you ? The simple answer is they wanted the money more than they wanted to help. The defenition of SCAM. In my opioion their consultant services are worthless and their staff, especially Jason Peck, are far from professional.
