I was a very big fan of Sony products up until recently. I purchased a Sony Cybershot Digital DSC100 Camera back in June of 2006. The camera has been a great asset for work. I use it on a regular basis. In May of this year, the LCD screen wasn't working properly. I called Sony up and they instructed me on how to ship it to Precission Camera. It was phenomenal service. I shipped it on a Monday, and it was back to me on Friday of the same week. The camera was fine for a few weeks, then the same problem occurred. I called them again and they said to send it back. So I did. It was shipped out on 6/19/07. I called on 6/28/07 to check the progress of the repair. I have now been told that my warranty no longer covers this because the camera is damaged. I was told that my camera which is or was in mint condition, has a cracked LCD screen, a broken battery door and a dent in the front. This is insane. Everyone realizes that warranties don't cover dropped or damaged items. I would have never sent it in. The camera was serviced just four weeks prior to this. Don't you find it a little strange that within a months time THREE major damages occurred? They're telling me this is how they received it. I'm telling them, no, it's not how I sent it. My point is: How do I or anyone that's been in this situation even begin to prove this? How do I know that they didn't damage it? It's my word against their's. Guess who is going to lose out? They said that they would send me pictures of the camera. I said, what good are they going to do me? The way I see it is they're sending me pictures of a camera that they broke. It will cost me $295.00 to fix it. And there is no guarantee on when I'll get it back. In a nutshell, I've been lied to, scammed and no one even told me about this until today. If I had not called God knows when I would've been informed of this. It's just very ugly all the way around. How does the little guy ever get to stand up or win against outright lies and bad customer service in this country? Who can I get to help me? It's not fair.
