Preevel House of Preevel - Contracted for this company nearly 5 months ago, they are refusing to pay Glendale California

Back in May (2017), my collegue Raul contacted me. He had started working for a new company in LA called Preevel - they are hoping to be some sort of music production company I guess. Their site was a mess and I was brought on to help fix it. Raul went on and on (and on) about how "Legit" they are. I should have known better after the 5th time he threw that at me. I worked on the website for about a month. I finally finished my part, and sent my bill.

After a month, I get a weird email from Raul asking me to resend the invoice over to somebody named Dede Tsuruoka, as she would be handling it. Ok, I think, no problem, sent. Another month goes by, and still no pay. I start emailing both of them, and sure enough, the emails are ignored. Finally after a while Dede replies and says she will "look into it". Of course, there was no reply again after that. The owners name is listed as "Mayes, Precious", but I never interacted with that person.

At this point, they obviously have no intent to pay. I gave them months, but they have been unresponsive, rude, and shady. I filed a grievance with the California Labor board for wage theft, and will probably have to take them to small claims court.

If Raul or anyone contacts you to work for Preevel, AKA Preevel Studios, AKA House of Preevel, steer clear. They are ripoff artists.
