Preferred Law, PLLC Preferred Law Team PLLC, Modification Review Board, Destroyed my Loan Modification opportunity! 6-Months Wasted Time for $3,900 - Refusing to Refund Salt Lake City Utah

In November 2013, was contacted by Modification Review Board who is basically the same company as Preferred Law who talked me into hiring legal representation to assist me with my mortgage modification as I was having trouble getting my mortgage company's attention.    

While Modification Review Board promised me I would be well taken care of, and they had a 99% success rate and only fools try to do a loan modification without legal assistance.   Soon after I agree, I am given a contact person at Preferred Law who collected my information, sent me some agreement forms and a contract to sign, and of course processed my first payment of $780.  There would be five(5) payments made for $780 to total $3,900.   Soon after I make my payment, I am transferred to another person at Preferred Law who sent me a few more forms and accidentally attaches two of their existing clients loan packet documents containing personal information belonging to the primary plus co-borrowers for two parties.    Everything from ss#, loan#, addresses, paycheck stubs, tax returns, etc are included in the packets.   When I brought this to their attention, they apologized and I was again transferred to yet another agent at Preferred Law.   

Over the course of 6 months, the only communication I received from Preferred Law was on the 1st of the month when my payments were due.   Other than that, zero updates, zero requests, nothing ...  I would ask for an update periodically, and was told "everything was fine" going as planned not to worry.   

After my final payment was made, my future ex-husband decides to create havoc for me, and he calls Preferred Law to advise that HE didn't want to proceed with any modifiications, so Preferred Law halts all work and tells me that without his permission, the process can not continue.   I spent a month pleading with my future ex to cooperate and allow them to proceed, only to get frustrated and more angry.   I finally contact my mortgage company who tells me that THEY DON'T NEED MY FUTURE EX-HUSBANDS permission to proceed as I was holding the Deed in my name only, and he held no such authority.   My mortgage company was waiting for an updated RMA from me, in order to submit my packet to the underwriters - never any mention about this from Preferred Law as they never even spoke to my mortgage company so how would they know.   

Basically, I wasted 6 months worth of time, which has created late payments now in the sum of about $40,000 which when put onto the rear end of my loan will hike up my new mortgage amount so high that I no longer qualify for the loan modification.   I am losing my house and home of 15 years because of these people!   I spent my last of my savings account on hiring Preferred Law for help, and they refuse to refund the money to me stating they did exactly what they were hired to do ...  nothing.    The contract i signed is worded as such to allow these criminal to get away with their scam.    Verbal promises are not binding so everything I was told is just part of their scam.   

I only hope there will be a Class Action in the future, or an attorney will find this report and contact me so we can pursue some legal action against these criminals.   Anyone considering hiring Preferred Law --- STOP!  DO NOT HIRE THEM FOR ANYTHING!  IT'S A SCAM, THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, YOU WILL END UP IN A WORSE SITUATION THAN YOU STARTED!
