Around 2007, after Preferred Response purchased/merged with Alliance International Security (AIS), I worked with the firm for one year (4 years total from AIS). 

  (1) Managers lied to Alliance Guards promising salary adjustments/increases if we stayed with new company, then made excuses for not doing it.

  (2) In 4 years, I never took time off, just called off 1 day for medical/dental reason.  Then in July 2008, I notified Preferred Response that I was going to South America for 3 weeks, book a substitute guard, and I'll be back to resume post next month.  Personnel Manager was pissed, and when I returned, H/R Staff lied by stating that they didn't know I was on vacation, (Despite my Letter/Phone Conversation w/Manager),so accused me of job abandonment.  I didn't protest, because I didn't want to work with Deceitful Managers.

 (3) About 1 year later, Preferred Response was class-action sued by a former Employee for multiple violations of California/Federal labor law - not paying OT, not pay final 2 weeks salary of employees resigning, not giving required breaks on shifts, etc.  Preferred Response settled out-of-court for about $500,000 without admitting culpability. 
 Most Employees, past and/or present, received about $350 payouts as legal settlement.

 (4) At that time, Guards talked that Preferred Response was losing most previous Alliance (AIS) Customer Accounts, and many Guards were quitting this company, too.  Preferred Response moved out of Downtown L.A. Skyscraper to cheaper office in mid-Wilshire area, so lost revenue must've been a factor, too, in relocation.
