Preferred Tax all in on tax services Scammed by Preferred Tax for $3500 - Because of it now dealing with a tax lien! el, segundo, California

In May of 2010 searched for a tax company to help me with my outstanding individual income taxes.  Found a company named Preferred Tax.  Signed a power of attorney and some other paper work and paid a deposit and they started working on my taxes. 

In the beginning they kept in contact with me, took my payments for services which totaled $3500. After a while stopped hearing from them and when I sent emails heard no replies.  Finally, I attempted to call them and the number was no longer in service. 

Searched for information about the company via of the internet and found out that they were no longer in business.  No one contacted me to inform me that they were going out of business or send me my money back. The company website stated that they were no longer in business and to contact All In One Tax Services.

Called All In One Tax Services and they informed me that they did not have my file from Preferred Tax but they would be willing to help me for a fee of $2,400.  They sent me a retainer agreement in the mail.  After being scammed by Preferred Tax I was hesitant about obtaining help from another agency. 

Did some research on All In One Tax and read about someone else who went through the exact same thing.  Realizing that it was another scam I did not use All In One Tax. I must say that All In One Tax was very persistent in calling, sending information via mail trying to solicit my business.
