My 29 year old son, Kevin, has Klinefelter's Syndrome. He has 2 extra sex chromosomes,XXYY. Because of this he often doesn't truely understand. This bank sent him a credit card that seems illegal.  They sent 2 credit cards. They didn't have to be varifie, ready to use. Every credit card I have there was an 800 number to call to verify. Without this, anyone could use it. It seems the credit card would not want that liability They had sent something for him to sign .. which he did not. But he got the 2 credit cards ready to use with no verification. He has not spent a cent. He already owes $200.77.  They had service fees, maintenance fees, activation fees, fees in case something happens to him. He has not used the card.  I took it away. But they say he owes $200.77.  He doesn't remember signing up for all the things they put down.  This has got to be illegal.

The BBB asked how I would like this resolved:

I have taken the card away from my son.  No charges have been made.  I want that bank to take off the $200.77 charged to him. I cannot believe they are a real bank, or a real credit card company. This is just outrageous

I want the bank to forget my son's name, address and never contact him again. They should be ashamed for taking advantage of a person who is just a simple person who doesn't know the evil ways of money making companies. It just seems illegal to me.

Your blaming the bank for giving him credit cards that he applied for.  It sounds like they were the ones that got ripped off since you haven't paid the bill for your son either.  Did you know that even if the bank would have known of your son's disability, it would be illegal for them to deny him credit based on that.  Your son must be more compitant than you give him credit for.  He was able to fill out all the information on a bank application that would have needed the verify his identity and be compliant with the Patriot Act.  If that's not the case, then someone in your household applied for the cards fraudulently with his identity.  Companies advertise lots of stupid things.  Would you think Marlboro is fraudulent if your son took up smoking and got lung cancer?  What if he jumped over an overpass to on coming traffic and got hit by an 18 wheeler?  Would you blame the trucker for running him over?  I feel really bad for your son.  It sounds like a terrible thing for anyone to have.  I'm sure it is difficult to try to watch out for everything he does in life.  But, you can't blame these things for existing.  It's just life!  All you can do is try to teach your son the best you can and pray he understands. :)
