Prevention Magazine - North Shore Agency Attempt to Get More of our hard earned money Westbury New York

I received a request for payment in the mail today from North Shore Agency for an outstanding bill of $19.94 for payment of Prevention Magazine.

I was given a phone number to call or a web address so I could pay this out standing bill.

I knew I did not owe Prevention Magazine anything, I have pruchased magazines from them for some time and knew I was paid in full.

I logged on to the Prevention Magazine web site and got a customer service number and called it. The person I talked to said North Shore was part of Prevention Magazine and not a real collection agency. When I told the person I wanted to cancel my subscription to Prevention Magazine I was told I was paid through September 2009. The person on the line said she would cancel the subscription, notify North Shore to take me off their mailing list since I did not owe any money, it was all a mistake and Prevention was oh so sorry for the error. The lady took the ID# off the letter I received along with my account # and said to ignore any further letters from North Shore who may have already mailed out another collection notice, I just received this one today and they have already mailed another one out.

This appears to be an attempt to get more money for services I am already paying for.

This sure seems like fraud and false pretense to me.
