 Prearranged to pick-up a rental car from Hertz to conduct govt. business in the State of NC from 06/5/13-06/11/13. Price and contract was purchased through Priceline.Com. Talked with Priceline days before arrival and mention that I needed a specific vehicle due to service-connected injuries as a veteran. Priceline informed me to call Hertz and inform them about the issue. When I arrived at the RDU Airport the customer service rep. was informed about the matter but chose to ignore my concerns.

Therefore, I was given a car that resulted in a SMELL FROM HELL!The car had not been fully serviced and cleaned. Two days later the engine service light came on and the car and the car engine begin to skip causing the car to burn additional gas. In addition to this the car seat would only ajust one way and caused my back to hurt terrible which became stiff. Hertz roadside service was made aware of the issues and was called several times. I was asked the mileage on the car and was informed the car was due for service.

The sales rep. knew the due was due for service but lease the car anyway. I asked for the car to be replaced and was told to drive back to the airport which would have been another two hour drive. The Fayetteville, NC Airport (FAY)did not any cars at the given time. The FAY Airport was called numerous times but nothing available. Due to the issues of the car I decided to rent from another agency because of the govt. obligations and limited time to conduct the transactions. Finally, on 6/8/13 a flatbed tower brought a car to a specific location.

Hertz associates told me the following: continue driving the car, it was not their fault, if I can not drive the car back to RDU I have a problem, and numerous other delays for not rendering customer service. I was not able to full complete some of the intended business due to the car mechancial issues.The flatbed tow driver verified that the car HAD A SMELL FROM HELL and was skipping causing additionl fuel to be burned. I HAD USE THE AC AT FULL LEVEL NOT TO SMELL THE SCENT & LET THE WINDOWS DOWN WHEN NOT IN USE. PRICELINE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO MY EMAIL'S OR CALLS. AS A VETERAN AND GOVERNMENT EMPLOYLEE LET THIS BE A WARNING.
