Hi, I am writeing this in hopes of helping people to not make the same mistakes that I did.  I was in a dead end job working retail all of my life, and I wanted something else. Someone told me about Prime Trucking in Springfield Mo. and it sounded so good.

From the start I was led to belive that they would provide all the training that I needed to obtain a class A CDL , plus they would provide all transportation, plus a hotel room and free food, and once in training I would get paid about $600.00 a week plus I would get a extra $200.00 a week while on the road for food while I was in training.

I jumped at the dealI would only have to pay aprox $150.00 out of pocket for getting my permit plus them running a background check on me and all that they needed to do. I left home on a late Saturday night on a greyhound bus , made a layover that lasted about 2 hours, and then we headed to Springfield.

I got there the next morning and checked into my room with a room mate, and I waited till the next morning to start class. I got up before roll call, had breakfast, made my way to the classroom about a hour early . Class started and they handed out paperwork after paperwork, and they sent a letter out for us to sign that gave them permission to contact where we worked at before so they can make sure that we all ready quit our last job.

Later that day we all did a drug screen, and after that the number in the classroom got smaller and smaller, that afternoon we were given study material so we could pass the test to get our CDL permit. DOT came in a few days later to start testing everyone out. I passed my CDL Permit test on Thrusday ,and on Friday I went to the practice pad to check out the trucks.

We were given out more paperwork on the different parts of the truck that we had to know about for our next test. By then on Friday we allready lost about 40 % of the students that either could not pass thier background check, drug test, or thier CDL Permit test.

The next day they started pairing us up with instructors that had thier own truck that would take us out on the road showing us how to drive the truck. I met my instructor and later that night I packed up all of my clothes and got into his truck and started out on my misadventer.

I never was behind the wheel of a simi truck ,and yes it was scarey the first lets say 3 or 4 days of me driving. I got used to the long hours behind the wheel ,while learning how to use a map to find out the best way on how to get between point A and point B, and keep my driving hours within the DOT rules.

The first week of me driving came and went and my instructor showed me how much he was going to get paid for that week ,and it looked really good. Mpre than I ever made at retail I have to say. And then I asked how much was I going to get paid and it was nothing till about 4 weeks later. By then I twisted up my knee really bad, and I had to go in to take my CDL Test  that included 6 different ways of parking that we did not use in the field. I could not back into cones in order to get my CDL and I was sent home because I could not back the simi into little cone squares. Now I have no job , and no money to pay bills, or money to go see about my knee. nd to top it off I have to pay them back for my bus ticket home plus for the moneyI used for food on the road, and thier last word to me was that they are really not a truck driving school and that they should not be expected to provide 1 on 1 training to pass the CDL driving test. What really tops it off is that they told me that if ever I do go to a truck driving school and I get my CDL , I could come back and work with them. I am about to get kicked out because I do not have a job, i can not pay my bills,  I have no hope and no will to go on..  All I can tell you is to Beware.. and ask you to Pray for me ,and if someone can help me  PLEASE !!!!
