In late 2007 we contacted Jerry Frey at Prime and requested a loan. We had numerous bills due to my wifes cancer surgery and we had flood damamge to our home not covered by insurance. We had extensive discussions regarding our rates, terms and lender. Being an appraiser I did not want Prime to carry my loan as i did not want any confllicts. We were assured the loan was going to countrywide. We filled out all the papers did our due dilligence and then came the day of closing and the rate was significantly higher than quoted or agreed to. We had superior credit, LTV and there was no reason for this. He said "we" did not lock the loan " thats the mortgage guys job" and we can not get the loan he assured us was available. He was apparently floating the rate and got caught with his pants down. We walked on the closing and complained to the pseudo branch manager to no avail. He only covered his employees butt. They called and called to assure us we could do the refi and then made assurance after assurance we could refi in one year - no problem they said. The loan officer gave back part of the origination as punishment and acknowledgement of his failure to to his job and opened the title company on christmas eve to close the loan so he could get his commission. he took advantage of our backs being against the wall. Shortly after that the loan was never able to be sold because of the way it was screwed up by the mortgage company and now we are stuck in house with them. Their disclosures specifically stated we would be sold off and they do not carry in house loans - well what are we?? They are trying to foreclose on us after we have had a battle royale over and insurance claim ( they wanted to have all the contractors individually approved ???) and I refused to turn over the funds to them and at the same time I was calling them on their fraud. They blackballed me from appraising for them which cost me significant income and the ability to pay my loan. It pressed me to the point of insanity. not they have a sheister lawyer filing to accelerate the loan and a restraining order not to talk to prime. I have pages of illegal requests from their loan officers wanting predetermined values and pushing of appraisals. The loan officer who screwed up this mess fought with me over a deal I did With Chevy chase bank where he was brokering to them and demanded $300,000 more on the appraisal. He got someone to w***e it to close his deal and you wonder why this was a a bail out bank because of unlicensed mortgage "loan officers" like him !! I have tons of other data on Prime and I hope anyone who reads this will stay as far away from them as humanly possible.
