I was familiar with Primerica when it was A.L. Williams back in the 1990's (at that time, attending a Rah Rah meeting turned me off and my recruiter, who tried to pressure me to set up a meeting with my friend without even caring to check about his interests or qualifications, also turned me off). So we parted
company.

Last year, my new recruiter assured me that things were
different (no more Rah Rah meetings e.g.) and told me that I would be reimbursed for my license and the test fee (which came to $415) plus getting reimbursed for my training class after going out on 10 appointments. Well I never got reimbursed and the recruiter claimed he never told me I can get reimbursed for my training class coming up with the excuse that's the way
it "used to be" at Primerica.

At rockbottom this is a multi-level company where you need to recruit to get into serious numbers. It's already been posted and I've heard from other sources that the term insurance is overpriced compared with other companies (it would be interesting to get some numbers to compare Primerica with the industry norm) and the reason why the term insurance is so high is to reward RVPs and above.

Any business that depends on you to start off selling to your friends and relatives is unrealistic (if I had to depend on my friends and relatives to make money, then I wouldn't bother selling and try a more honorable livelihood. The only type of selling I know is where I give the customer satisfaction and value which I have been extremely successful at). With Primerica due to the IBA contract, if you do get someone to buy a product while undergoing training, then that money goes to the company.

In the long run when you don't deceive customers (and recruits/ trainees), then you have the makings of a solid business. Eventually when the job recession has run its course, Primerica and other companies will have to start rolling up their sleeves and start doing honest product selling as opposed to their current recruiting tactics.
