As a recent graduate who is returning to the workforce after a hiatus, I filed my resume online with careerbuilder.com. I expected the service to be a simple way to pinpoint exactly which type of position for which I am trained.

After just one day, I received a call from a "Bill" from Primerica who stated that he saw my resume. He asked more than once if I've heard of Citigroup. I told him "yes" and he seemed to be pushing the Citigroup name, I believe to give his pitch credibility. (red flag)

He invited me to a one-hour long "interview" in Lisle, IL, which he said would be attended by others. (red flag) The discussion was to cover a "corporate overview" and history and expansions. I did not go, by the way.

I asked him if this was for a Sales position. He said yes, and I said, "but my resume specifically states that I am looking for an administrative assistant position, along with my qualifications."

I told him I was not interested in a sales position, and he then asked me to pass along his cell phone number to anyone else I know!

I commented, "You're not very picky, are you?" I said goodbye and hung up on him.

My point here is that Primerica is *not* targeting people for Sales positions who are looking for Sales jobs. Primerica is *not* recruiting people based on the position to be filled with people qualified for it.

In regards to the many comments in the Primerica thread which defend Primerica by comparing its recruiting to well-known companies that recruit for employees, Primerica is *not* targeting its recruitment practices. One, they called ME. Two, he asked me to give his cell number to anyone I know.

I see I've spent more than enough time on this. I've been putting myself out there searching for a real job, and Primerica calls me. What a disappointment and waste of my time answering the Primerica call when I'm hoping to hear from any number of potential employers to whom I've targeted and sent my resume!

I've since made my resume Private.
