Privacy matters is linked to Classmates.com. They withdrew from my bank without authorization. Thieves!!!! I joined Classmates.com as a Free 7 day trial temporary member, and gave them my Debit Card info to do so. Privacy matters then without my express consent accessed the information provided to Classmates and billed me $19.95 for a Credit report I know I can get free once a year. This draft to my account caused an over draft, and a bill of an additional $30. When I notice the unauthorized' draft I contacted the bank and they cancelled the card to protect them and myself.

When I speak to their customer reps (Maria, ID# 151322 Shanon ID #22363) they refuse to tell give me the PH# number of Gary Johnson 9500 West Dodge Rd Omaha NE the supposed owner, or tell me where they are actually incorporated. They gave me Compliance Department PO Box 5152 Des Plains Ill 60017 as a contact address. They are not registered as business in NE or Illinois according to their Secretaries of State.

The following is a few communications I have sent recieved

Sat, 21 Feb 2009 12:48:56 Attention: Mark Goldston Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of United Online Inc. (UNTD) Dear Sir, I recently accepted a free trial offer to Classmates a United Online Inc subsidiary. To accomplish this I was required to provide my personal banking information (Credit/Debit Card#). Several days latter I notice an 'unauthorized draft from my bank account' for $19.95. This 'unauthorized draft' caused an overdraft of my account and the bank charged me an additional $30 overdraft fee. I contacted my bank immediately and had them cancel my credit/debit card so as to prevent any further 'unauthorized transactions'.

My bank provided me with the contact information of who made the 'unauthorized draft' from my account. The information led me to Privacy Maters 123 (PM 123) who offers credit reporting services which is offered by Adaptive Marketing, which is a partner to Classmates which is a subsidiary of United Online Inc. of which you are the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.

After speaking to the person at PM 123 they advised me that they obtained my bank account information from Classmates. They agreed to refund the $19.95 they had drafted (attempted to steal) from my account without my consent. I reasonably requested them to contact my bank advise them that the draft was made in error and that the funds were being returned. They refused to do so and held my money in 'your account' for several days for 'your convenience' to which I objected.

Once I found out that Classmates was the culprit that was sharing my banking information with others without my consent I contacted Classmates to complain. I complained that I never authorized them to share my bank information with anyone, at anytime, for any reason. This was their response:

Hello Jim, Thank you for contacting Classmates. I can understand your frustration and will do my best to address your concerns. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Privacy Matters 1-2-3 at 1-877-993-6264 or www.privacymatters123.com. If you have any further questions or concerns, please reply.>

I chose to reply and express that 1. I know what my credit report says and would never agree to pay for a credit report because they can be obtained FREE one a year. 2. That due to fact that Classmates had shared my banking information 'without my consent' that I was forced to cancel that particular card, in order to protect myself. Now that the card was canceled I could not conduct my regular business affairs, and that it would be at least two weeks before I will be able to obtain another card and go about my everyday life. 3. That this 'unauthorized activity' by Classmates while acting in 'your name' has caused me a loss of income, which is an injury or damage.

Classmate's response to that was some ridiculous claim that according to their records I had in fact requested copies of my credit reports from PM 123 which authorized Classmate's to share my banking information with them, and that I had received an E-mail giving me NOTICE that PM 123 was going to draft funds from my account which it total unmitigated balderdash. After doing some research I have discovered that it is common practice for you, your subsidiaries, partners, and affiliates to share the 'private personal banking information of others', and that many have suffered 'unauthorized withdrawals from their banks' in YOUR NAME Sir. This deceptive, unfair, ?trade practice? MUST BE STOPPED. Sincerely
