Privacy Plus fraudulant billing Internet Connecticut

I just received my credit card billing statement and it included a charge from PrivacyPlus.com for $89.00 This company is internet based and provides the customer with credit card reports, etc. The problem is, I NEVER signed up for the service, and NEVER gave them my credit card number. The probability is high that America Online gave out my credit card number to them, but I cannot prove this at this point.

To eliminate the charge, call the phone number from privacyplus on your credit card billing statement, and listen to the message. Be sure to wait until you hear the option to cancel the subscription. There is a long gap in the recorded message before the message explains how to cancel the charge.

A word of warning: DO NOT visit the site and log in with the number they will give you in the recorded message. If you do this, chances are you will be stuck with the $89.00 charge.
